  3. Argh.... see even the mention of it, sends us hysterical...you are so right ... the Valium... we must also remember the yoga breathing exercises for next time
  4. "who knows what will happen"....oh yes we do.. lots of gin talk, a busy thread, a late night, plenty of radar grabs, some praying, some pleading, some lamppost watching and ....rain.
  5. Great.. but I take it alas no snow on the roofs of houses? Bungalows yes? not houses?
  6. Ha BBC... wrong wrong wrong .. it’s snowing.. well kind of, sort of... but it is ..
  7. We have, a few random odd flakes occasionally in Reading.. oh and they've stopped.
  8. I've just ran the radar on animation, manually and automatically - is that thing even moving? Will it move or just fizzle?
  9. Mornin!.. well it’s breaking up over Wales for sure so yep a few dribs n drabs or puffs if any will be left for our area.. how ever what’s that behind you? .... south west hold on to your hats?
  10. Know what you mean about the last bit.. almost skidded on the roundabout on grit about two weeks ago think it was .. on road off road driving .. yee ha
  11. I got excited at seeing the gritter lorries out in force this evening . They’ve done stirling job in west Berkshire. 12. Boo Points West. That band is thickening so whatever you are doing Ireland give it that extra va va boom to resist the decaying potential ,.,
  13. That band is turning to sleet and snow now over NI....come on sweetie pie, keep at it, keep growing, come on you can do it......keep it real, keep cool. (EDIT - just checked into NI thread - seems to be a lot slower moving than predicted/forecast and maybe maybe intensifying)
  14. Sky is looking much darker to the north east too of Reading,,, could just be time of day and brightness of sun in the south, as there is nought on the radar.
  15. That is just rude. What a rude system - no manners. Someone give it a slap..
  16. Hello Paul I have tried to search to get the answer to this, but where is the link to explain about how many likes you can have and for how long before they reset - I have a feeling it maybe at my limit as I couldn't like anything, I remember reading somewhere, but cant remember where. Typical me. No rush in answering - when you have five. Thank you!
  17. ha ha - good old dictionary - doesn't give an immediate antonym of "prevailing" as in south westerly. Being coastal girl, it is so often a south westerly . ...Planes at Heathrow today have changed their landing and take off on account of the more easterly - which is less prevalent than the westerly direction operation at 30% of the time. Just love that fact - and noticeable from our office today.
  18. Unless you factor in the " rare" north easterly on top... and its feel factor Chevron? . If it was the prevailing south westerly then the temps then may not be that cold really?. I flipping felt it this morning riding out first thing and I am out in all weathers every week.. thermals and about 10 layers. Lovely though.
  19. My childhood home is Chichester - still family there so I know the weather characteristics well. If it has snowed in Chichester that says a lot! think it maybe to do with the Downs normally it protects Chichester. When rest of the south coast is grey and dull, you can almost bet sunshine over Chichester Harbour and Bognor.. our family have always called it the Thorney Window.
  20. And METO head forecaster is quoted as saying this below on the BBC website - keep that quote " don't expect to build a snowman" ... - Will this have the jinx of the infamous Michael Fish "no hurricane".comment.. ... "Quite a lot of the UK will see some snow as we head through Tuesday, but as it ventures into the Midlands, south-west England and eventually later in the day across south-east England, it's just going to be a few flakes," Mr Snell said. "Don't expect to build a snowman." The cold snap is expected to last until next weekend, with milder weather on the way the following week
