  1. We've had a mixture of rain/hail/sleet and snow in the showers today. Chilly outside but not biting cold. Expect a few flurries this evening.
  2. Snow dying out now but probably around 1" on the ground. Proving to be a quite sensentional month of snowfall in Aberdeen.
  3. Persistant moderate snow - everywhere white with a decent covering now.
  4. Becoming increasingly overcast throughout the day, giving way to light snow which has been falling for about an hour. Nothing lying yet. Snow actually becoming light/moderate and starting to lie.
  5. Well there only been 5 or 6 days when it hasn't snowed in Aberdeen this month! And such was the severity of the the snowfall in the first week of this month, I have seen snow every day as there is still the odd patch of old snow to found here and there.
  6. Again more snow flurries today, not nearly heavy enough to lie though. Bitterly cold
  7. Yeah snow flurries since the middle of the day. Nothing substantial enough to lie though.
  8. Interesting that as there has only been 4 days this March when it hasn't snowed here in Aberdeen! 2 Snow Reports Yesterday - Snow pellet/hail flurries around 9pm (sorry I can't tell the difference) Today - Around 9am, moderate/heavy snow shower, not settling though.
  9. Hi Paul - I've just noticed in your league table no occasions of Thundersnow for Aberdeen. I could be wrong but I though I reported this extremely rare event on Friday the 3rd March. We had Thunder & Lightning mixed with snowfall at 8.00am on the date mentioned.
  10. During last weeks blizzards in Aberdeen, we had a rare but very pretty site in our back garden - Snow Buntings! As I say these birds are extremely rare visitors to our land and I was delighted to witness their presence. Anyone else seen them recently?
  11. Patchy rain and sleet throughout the day here. However, just seen a live scene from Dundee in the local news where it's snowing and the ground is white.
  12. Persistant moderate snow in Aberdeen - lying on most, if not all surfaces.
  13. 2 Snow Reports. Yesterday around 10pm - light snow. Today we've had light snow flurries throughout the morning.
  14. kincorth has already mentioned this, and yes, Aberdeen did receive a dusting of fresh snow overnight - ceefax had 'Snow showers' for Aberdeen at 0600hrs this morning.
  15. Can anyone explain to me why the temperature of the North Sea off the East coast of Scotland has not dropped in the last week from 7.5° despite 6 consecutive days of freezing temperatures and snow?
  16. Well i make it 6 consecutive days Kincorth. Similar conditions to yesterday - prolonged periods of sunshine with occasional snow showers. That might just about do it for this cold snap but the memories of the past week will never be forgotten.
  17. Frequent/Scattered moderate snow showers this evening - snow continuing to pile up to in excess of a foot at my house.
  18. Just pasting it down again now - i'd anticipate a a prolonged snow shower of a t least 30 mins from this.
  19. Persistant snow now affecting Aberdeen, 2.5" fallen since 7.30. Puts my total to 9" now - probably well over a foot in the higher parts of the west end.
  20. Same here although i work up in Altens and it's deeper there (100m) which much more drifts. Been a bit quiter here the past hour but I can see another beast of a cloud encroaching on the northern horizon.
  21. Ok where do i start! I've never seen snow this bad in Aberdeen - EVER! Heavy snow showers occasionally merging to give a more prolonged period of snow. Probably close to a foot in the NW of the city. Amazing scenes here.
  22. Same here Triumph - Frequent moderate snow/snowgrain showers continuing here in Aberdeen. Will I get a foot of snow in my back garden by Friday???
  23. Well folks what a day of snow in Aberdeen!!! Jst back from work and this must be one of the best snow days I can remember. Frequent heavy snow showers which mounting accumulations during the day. I'll try and get a depth later but I'm quite confident we'll surpass the 1 foot mark by the end of the week.
  24. After a few light sleet showers during the afternoon, a 15 minute moderate/heavy snow shower swept through Aberdeen at 5.00pm. I'd anticipate these snow showers to occur every hour on average through the night.
  25. If we'd had last Spring's sypnotics during winter the word severe comes to mind. Why the wrong sypnotics at the wrong time of year!
