Lots of thundery showers today across the SW. I had one just after 06:00 with hail, was quite good, certainly haven't seen anything like it since at least last Summer. Good luck everyone!

Guys, is this just going to be another ordinary cold snap or are we expecting any snow at all? Mapantz doesn't mention any snow really. Was hoping to see some at least snow showers if not a widespread snow event.

Which problems? I've only had to replace the battery 3 times in nearly 5 years and that's it.

I just wish April 2012 would happen again, that was the best month for showers that I've ever witnessed...

Same here, Mapantz. Showers keep dying, god I hate Dartmoor for this reason.

Had a shower earlier which was slightly sleety even at 9°C!

Anybody got any hail yet in these showers? Can see some moderate/heavy ones coming this way but the upper air looks too warm for hail...

That's interesting. I live just outside a small village and we've had it since April. The priorities are a little odd.

What a morning! High winds started from the early hours and continued to increase until just after 09:00 here. A high wind gust of 53 mph was recorded here at 09:50. Meanwhile, me and Evening thunder went down to Sidmouth Seafront around 09:00 just before high tide. Most waves were smashing over the promenade containing large stones but luckily no one was hurt. This lead to soaked spectators including ourselves and surface water flooding. At Jacob's Ladder (an exposed ladder just west of Sidmouth), there were sustained severe gale force winds. It was certainly a great morning!

Wait? There's a possibility of a snow fest? :O

Hmm, I'm a bit sad that the wind warning has gone, was looking forward to a good storm even though today was windy we need something like 3rd December 2006.

Lol, think this needs to be updated again, very quickly. It's been changed to rain not kept as wind!

Ok, well none of us have helped you very well seen as Daniel hasn't even posted all of the charts for that period.

Daniel, I'm not saying there's no chance of snow, I'm saying lying snow at the moment is unlikely!

It's nothing to do with Devon, I'm saying there's nothing on the ground there, there's hardly any on the Cairngorms either!

This has got to be my favourite weather day: 20/12/2010. I remember waking up in the early hours and looking out of my bedroom window and gawping at the amount of snow that had accumulated. But, the best part was spending nearly a week always outside in the snow and sledging down our lane! @Evening thunder @ajpoolshark @gottolovethisweather @Mokidugway
