  1. All joking aside, I have sometimes wondered if a tornado would be at all possible in London, given the microclimate and proximity to the coast. I remember how surprising the Brum one a few years back was.
  2. Dunno about nice, I've nearly worn through the elbow! ;p Heat I'll deffo do well for, but we'll have to wait and see on the storm front- the Beeb forecast today showed it just missing us. Any further west and I'll definitely be out of a chance.
  3. Makes a change, it's usually the other way round lately! ;p
  4. Couple of rumbles of thunder, but no sighting of lightning here in East London, plus some short moderate downpours.
  5. Not even a sniff of rain so far today here, but I managed to snap this impressive tower to the NW https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19987-/

  7. I'm hoping that we'll at least get a bit of rain. The poor grass is looking a bit parched.
  8. Ha, everyone must have been screen capping this! What an incredible sight. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19942-/

  11. Definitely starting to feel stormy here, though whether we get any thunder remains to be seen. Here's hoping!
  12. Just been for a walk around the local park (need my exercise- the perils of self employment!) and most of the cumulus development, with some possible cumulonimbus, seem to be all to the North/ NW, so I'm assuming they're a result of the Urban Heat Island effect, and those north of London will benefit.
  13. Got some lovely towers building to the North of me, heading NE. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19937-/

  15. Unfortunately I managed to sleep through the small amount of thunder we had this morning. I only know about it as my other half told me when I woke up- usually he's the one who sleeps through storms! Lovely day outside so worth enjoying, and if we're lucky and get something much later, then that'll be the icing on the cake. Enjoy your day, peeps!
  16. That looks very similar to what I saw earlier, but failed miserably to get a decent pic of. You've got a much better panoramic view (slightly jealous )
  17. Tried to take a pic of the most impressive cumulonimbus I've seen for a while, that was towering off in the NW distance. Unfortunately the closer cumulus is only really visible- camera can't handle the contrasts https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/19872-/

  19. Popped out to the shops just a few minutes ago. As the storm system clears to the north there's quite an impressive and clearly defined cloud structure to it's weeble end. Is that likely to be all we get for today in London? The Beeb forecast seems to indicate that's the case?
  20. Looks like the west side of London will probably get the best of this.
  21. The cloud just the the N/NW of me is producing the thunder- just had a huge bang that made me jump! But not seen any lightning yet, and only a light smattering of rain. Maybe what's following on behind it will produce the real show?
  22. Just heard our first rumble of thunder here in East London.
