  1. I'll be honest, I'd quite like something just to clear the air. Could do with it being a bit fresher here.
  2. Was just thinking of going to bed, but we've just started getting flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder, along with rain!
  3. As already mentioned it looks like this one slid past us. No T&L anymore, just some moderate rain. Definitely still feels primed and ready- think that was just the aperitif! Most amazing skies I've seen for quite a while though. Wow! My pics really didn't do them justice. Can't wait to see what the folks with the pro kit get!

  10. Just seen our first lightning off to the SE. Taken some pics of wierd clouds with pockmarked base- anyone know what type of cloud they are? Will post pics shortly.
  11. The best Mammatus I've seen for a while! https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/20090-/ The atmosphere feels like it's ready to explode. Everything is a strange colour, and eerily quiet. More pics to come...

  13. That second storm at 5am this morning was perfect for lulling me off to sleep, and to wake up to some amazing pictures taken last night is just the icing on the cake. Must admit I'm a teensy bit jealous! Sunny and baking hot here, barely a cloud in the sky. My thermometer is reading 29 degrees inside, it's easily a few degrees more outside. Fingers crossed for some more fun, though I suspect the organisers of the Lovebox music festival next door are praying they don't get rained out!
  14. Gonna turn in now. Sky's clear overhead, can just about see the backend of the storm off to the NE. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
  15. Thunder's more distant now, with the occasional louder retort, and the lightning is far enough to the NE that I can see only the flashes of light, but there were some pretty epic cloud to cloud forks. I must admit I let out a "squee" every time- good thing the neighbours are all in bed! My other half has slept through the whole thing, further cementing my claim that he could sleep through world war three.....
  16. Yeah, seems to be lightning in all directions here. Just seen a fab purple fork! Rain's eased off by the t&l is every few seconds right now. Eeee, so excited!
  17. Just been for a walk to Tescos for ice cream, and saw the first flashes to the east on my way there. By the time I came back out again it'd spread across the horizon- beautiful huge flashes silhouetting impressive storm clouds. Surprisingly though didn't hear a rumble of thunder till I got home, and now we're getting regular rumbles. Right now I wish I lived at the top of a tower block for the view!
  18. Thanks for the London tornado info, guys. Must admit I'm quite surprised at the rare but strong ones that have occurred, and I can't believe I don't remember the 2006 one!
