  1. Temperature peaked at 11.0°C in West Drayton. 0.2°C short of the top temperature in 2016. But this is the warmest in 21 days.
  2. Pressure just peaked at 1031.5mb now falling again.
  3. Clouded over now in West Drayton. Looks like the high temperature of the year will be reached about 11.00 tonight. 11.2°C is the highest 2016 temperature so far. Yesterday got to 10.9°C
  4. Sunny morning in West Drayton London 6°C and light winds. Pressure 1029 mb, winds from SW. Looks like clouding over in an hour or so. Last night's low temp was 4.2°C
  5. It snowed in West Drayton last night not enough to cover the ground properly even though it snowed for 5 hours. Low temp 0.3°C pressure stady 1027 mb and winds turned to the East as the night progressed after being variable for a few hours.
  6. Conditions at 08.00 in West Drayton temp 0°C, pressure high 1029mb, winds W at 4mph, humidity 89%.
  7. I'm not sure one storm proves or disproves anything. We have many factors strong jet stream, strong El Nino, strong polar vortex, high pressure pulling in moisture from Florida. So lots of contributions. Climate change could play a part but I don't think one storm proves anything.
  8. Seems the Daily Express in predicting both a cold snowy winter and a stormy wet one they have covered themselves for both scenarios sadly Madden has looked himself again in the cold corner I guess because it pulls in more subscribers.
  9. Tonight has the chance of fog witha low around 8°C in London tonight. I see cold weather fans are getting excited again some charts at +240 are showing cold signs. They have at least hope now.
  10. It is quite funny seeing these cold dampers crying like babies because its not showing cold in mid November. Perhaps they should stop thinking you can predict snow 10 days ahead and just enjoy the ride. Very interesting few months many signs of cold are there but as ever the weather will do what it wants cold or warm I'm looking forward to this winter.
  11. Very strong cold front moving across the central US now. Close to a 60°F difference each side of the front 73°F in Knoxville and 19°F in Bismarck. Big change to a colder period of weather.
  12. I know its very unpopular to say to the snow nuts that 10 day forecasts are not going to happen to the letter is somehow a unforgivable sin. I lost 2 followers on twitter by saying temperatures look above average for the next 10 days.
  13. Independent has an article on " a month of storms and heavy rain to batter Britain" this was on 9/11/14
  14. Looks like rain will effect London from the early evening onwards so something to keep in mind for Lord Mayors show fireworks.
  15. Today's ECMWF chart at 00z I treat with some caution it seems OTT but the signs are the high pressure at northern latitudes are growing. To me it looks like this winter could be a colder one. Doesn't mean extreme but certainly I am looking forward to winter this year.
  16. A distinct lack of any signs of a heatwave in the short term. Dispite newspaper articles claiming a big heatwave on the way. To me it looks about average or just below.
  17. Looks to me like anti cyclonic gloom will be a factor early next week. Today was bright and sunny after a foggy start top temperature in was 16.4°C.
  18. GFS 12z still has high pressure in charge till as far out as the 15th. Looking like the HP is going to stay around. Think the weekend could be more cloudy than people think. They'll also be a cold front pushing in from the west.
  19. Just seen the above post a high of 19°C one winter, surly this year can't be that awful I will go for May 3rd. Hope I wrong.
  20. Its been a bad winter for snow, cold certainly, but at least an interesting one. The wettest winter in 250 years was worth seeing. Maybe in 2200 they will still use 2014 as the benchmark of how wet a winter can be
  21. Looks like turning colder on Friday #GFS hinting at some snow on the Eastern side of England and Scotland. First time I've seen highsof 6°C for a while.
  22. For me next few days are looking calm. Rain on Thursday maybe a bit windy but nothing like what we have had before. Some models showing more stormy weather on Monday but its to far of really. For now though fairly settled with highs above average.
  23. Nice to have a moment with no active weather warnings in place at the moment. Got s feeling things could tern stormy again next week but hopefully the worst of the floods are over now.
