    I may be wrong but if the temps higher up are cold and if the ppn is heavy enough then it should mix out the warm air. I watched the meto forecast today and they stressed how uncertain they are for the low. And even said it had not formed. So we can all speculate about what will happen but can never be sure

    Just run the NWEX-MR precipitation type animation and it does not look good for Kent for snow over the next week. I know I should not look as these forecasts are not reliable but couldn't resist.

    I like risks getting pushed further south. I am not going to get excited about Tues into weds until maybe Sunday eve as even a small change could make all the difference as to who gets snow and who misses out. But I am happy with cold temps

    Hopefully I love sitting in the hot tub when it's snowing lol. When my kids were young they used to play in the snow then strip off and jump in the tub to warm up dry off put dry clothes on and repeat lol

    You had snow yesterday on the coast. My friend lives in Herne bay and they had snow. There were loads of snow showers in your area where as here we had sun and partially cloudy skies.

    I love snow and would love a repeat of last year but as some others have said we are surrounded by water which will always temper the temperatures we get. Which ever way we look at it the seasons seem to have changed over the years and our best winter months come later in the year. So do our summer months too btw. I for one am enjoying some sun and frost much better than dull with rain. Let's just hope this next bite of the cherry at the beginning of Feb can deliver the goods.

    Maybe we should have expected downgrades as the charts have been extremely good recently so this is not a surprise. There is also a lot of imby posts which can be misleading.

    To my un trained eye is on the SE tip of the UK might just still be in with a shot of cold. We still may have a few surprises to come. At least the models are not showing mild in the next 7 days that's a good thing.

    Awwww my post has been removed lol. Anyway every time i look at the GFS i think this can't be right. The lack of human correction over the pond must be having an impact so i am more confused than ever. However I can't totally dismiss it so I am still not shouting about any snow chances to my friends Imby but am convinced we are going to get quite cold.
