  1. The band is only touching Exeter at the mo need more time to turn to snow.
  2. theresnoway that is for when the front first hits. The blue will turn to snow further se we will poss have a good period of snow then rain. That chart is missleading as it makes it look like there is no ppn se and even if it is only rain there certainly will be ppn in the SE.
  3. I have to drop my daughter off at her school at 4am so she can get the mini bus to stansted she is flying out at 8am to Germany. I hope it holds off till she is in the air.
  4. Why is it quite possible? And is this cold snap going to be over or does the current set up reset and give us another shot? I fear that although we will get snow on Thursday it will not stay around long before the rain comes in and i was hoping for a chance of some more prolonged cold after this week.
  5. Lots of people talking about the snow for sat but caddy said tonight that the atlantic will come back in on Sat with temps going up to 8C for us in the SE. Can anyone tel me what the chances are of this happening?
  6. Morning Tamara Here we did not have a frost and the temp according to my car is 2C we have clear skies with fluffy clouds. Nice to hear you have snow. I am looking forward to all the pics this week and if i don't get snow then maybe next time. I always seem to be on the edge of the snow bands and just get a sprinkling one day i will be in the middle of it.
  7. Hi Tamara Yes that chart does look good and to be honest all i want is a true good easterly for us just once to be taken back to my childhood or perhaps 86' when we were cut off from the town. Anyway got to go to bed as have children to get up in the morning night all and happy model watching.
  8. It's called sods law. That last snowfall a week or so ago delivered snow on the tues night only just thick enough to cover the grass and we were not predicted it and then on thursday we were supposed to wake up to 5 - 10 cm and saw nothing so i don't hold out much hope for this one either.
  9. I haven't got the UKMO chart link but have a gut feeling this is going to be a non event for me. We will see cold this week and then rain but no snow. I find reading this thread exciting and also self defeating as i am sitting here wishing that it could be my area that gets tons of snowfall and feeling jealous of you lot in the midlands. We don't get enough snow nowdays and i also think the models are into unfamiliar territory in so much as they have not had to handle this sort of set up before. I am not going to hope anymore but use my most reliable method of forcasting and that is taking a look out of the window. lol
  10. Just looked at the net weather extra charts and they say the south including SE will get rain as min temps are around 4 and ground temps are well up. We in the south may have to miss this one out. There's always next year.

I can't believe we have heavy snow forcast for Maidstone on thurs morning This is the only way i could post the data can anyone confirm how accurate this is? See mods i tired to plug net weather extra for you. It is good though.
  12. Looking at the charts i am not overly optimistic for snow down our way. I am sure it will be cold though.
  13. Where's the model disscussion thread gone? Using the country file forcast and trying to foget the sweater he wore i am pleasently surprised at the mention of poss snow for the SE. I saw this on the GFS ppn charts but do not normaly take much notice of them but this time it looks as if there could be a chance for me. I will be watching Thurs night very closely as this is the time i think my neck of the woods will get some good snow if all goes well and the forcast does not change.
  14. thanks for the reply i see where i have been going wrong now.
  15. sorry to ask this as i am still a novice. The charts posted showing the lows coming in also show that there is a lot of cold air (the purple) mixed in. Is it not possable that these lows could hit us with some snow even in the SE as they come over? Maybe i am grasping at straws.
  16. Isn't Melbourne the dumping ground for all those actors who leave the soaps? I seem to remeber a fair few who have ended up in Melbourne.
  17. Well down here it was a cold spell the lake in our park was frozen today.
  18. It just snowed here too which is unusual. Has settled on the ground so for me this cold spell has been at least 5 days long which is quite good.
  19. I know you won't believe me but we have had a snow shower here which has settled on the road. Small flakes and didn't last long but snow nonetheless.
  20. been snowing on and off all day temps around 2.5 and now a heavy snow shower has passed over Lenham where a friend is working.
  21. It is still snowing here. Not laying. Yeti i don't know how much snow you get where you are but this is unusual for us in this modern time. You are showing how young you are with your comments my daughter is your age. The snow has been featured on the news because it is so unusual. That must surely prove to you why we are all so pleased with what we are seeing. Your posts seem to come over antagonistic and sarcastic. I am old enough to remember times when we had more snow on the ground than you have ever seen in your life for England. By the way why are you not at school?
  22. Morning Tamara sorry i didn't post back on the other thread i went out to walk the dog soon after i posted the snowing comment couldn't resist a walk in the snow. Ia it snowing where you are now we still have it comming down here and i have to go out again to see a friend.
  23. Well although i was dissapointed at the lack of snow last night when i woke to the same amount as i had gone to bed with but i have seen more snow showers this cold snap than last year so i am happy. It has not settled thismorning but it was nice taking the dog for a walk in the snow with snow falling. It is still snowing now only lightly. Maybe this year is the year when we will get that most elusive of things and organised snow band to give a decent covering for more than one day in places. That would be the cherry on the cake for me.
  24. Just a light dusting here not worth mentioning realy. Still the roofs are white and the sky has little blue patches and light grey clouds. Not much of an event. Maybe the next cold spell in a few years time will deliver for me.
