  1. What’s all this about storms in Brighton? I thought the risk transferred to the far west now?
  2. Todays forecast: After this mornings there will be a followed by potential migrating from France to dynamically lift the causing widespread :ROFLCOPTER: Stay safe, and unplug all your toasters
  3. Stuff happening in the channel. Shame I’m off to bed. But up again for work in about 4 hours lol. Up with the thunder
  4. Please… not again. I’ve only just cleaned the Nutella off my cape from last time
  5. Can’t wait for the hydrolapse aerobars, and the elevated tobleranemometor
  6. This is why there’s no point making a forecast outside of the 24… nay …12 hour window - look how different the synoptics are now. Really don’t know whether tomorrow will be an ‘event’ or just rambunctious weather Can’t not get slightly excited about it nevertheless
  7. There’s a place called Glynde, near Firle - saw a bonkers lightning show from there a few years back - one of my best chases. Probably too busy (and financially restricted) for a chase this time, not the end of the world if it misses us - hopefully lots more chances as we move into autumn
  8. I’m still not sure about the timing here… are we talking about overnight? There’s a bunch of stuff (official weather term) ploughing through during the day but looks like a second load of stuff moving through a little later on. Hoping it’s a night time thing anyway
  9. I’m seeing channel storms, then North Sea storms - but crossing land I’m only seeing a bunch of rain for Friday. Think we all got too overexcited
  10. You’re literally hammering the “make it not happen” button by posting this, looool Outwards?
  11. It’s in the Metcheck discussion now - always a sign that things are worth keeping an eye on… next step would be an advanced synoptic discussion on UKWW, which I would expect to see on weds evening / Thursday AM - if things aren’t downgraded too much by then…
  12. I think there should be a blanket ban on any talk of any storm that is north of the M4 - at least until July
  13. Aligns with the UKWW forecasts I’ve been reading… shame it’s another ‘oop north’ event
  14. I recall a couple of years back I went up towards Cambridge to chase what turned out to be a fairly decent storm system - but the thing I remember most about it is that all the fields were yellow because of a protracted dry spell, and it really contracted against the deep purpley blue of the heavy clouds. The photos are about somewhere but I’ll have to dig them out
  15. Next weekend is being downgraded to just a wee chance at a clipper, from what I can tell. We can’t have nice things
  16. I would really like it if there was a website for these daily forecasts, as I do miss the old CW forecasts by Dan - it might be better than posting them on here each day, especially as we approach some more interesting weeks where there will be more activity on here. I have nothing against regular storm charts, my issue is that if they are nestled in this thread they are going to be a challenge to find each day Hope this helps, I do like to read the synoptic discussion and love the enthusiasm, but agree there might be a better way
  17. I’ve been fiddling about with AI to make some ultra-surreal storm images, while we wait endlessly for something to actually happen in the actual sky. Here’s one of my favourites
  18. Spoiler alert There will be no 6000 (or 4500) CAPE storm There will be no giant hail We will see the livestock graze And theirs graze after them For about 20 hours we’ve gazed at the models with a mounting sense of fear Our path to next Sunday looked set to be lit with the bright lights of elevated cumulus electrification But now we lower our eyes and see That the GFS overcooked it all. …There will be no armageddon (and that’s actually a good thing )
