Flash bang flash bang etc

I have everything on charge!

I was really scared of thunder until i was 15 (ish). I really hated the noise of the thunder and would cover my ears so i couldn't hear it. Makes no sense now - especially as I'm more likely to be hurt or otherwise by a lightning strike. Maybe I thought my ears would pop if it was too loud. Can't really remember! It then changed from something I was petrified of to something I can't get enough of! TBH I still get a tingle of fear and anxiety about 5 mins before a big storm hits but that all adds to the excitement...

Is the storm coming up from mainland France or across from Biscay? Or is it a case of the two fronts meeting overhead? Sorry I'm not very meteo ATM :-)

Hi everyone, Been loving the enthusiasm here over the last few days, at least I'm not the only one with storm fever :-) I live in Godalming and will be eager to know of anyone who knows a good vantage point somewhere nary, maybe even in north Hampshire area. Was thinking of heading up to the Mount in Guildford to get a good vista to the south (also good for southeast and okay for southwest too). What sort of time do you think my area will be getting the first atmospheric flashes, was thinking probably about 12ish? My OH back from Germany at about half nine tonight so can probably get out just before midnight. Have emptied out the van to make it quicker for chasing :-D Just sorting out camera etc. EXCITING! :-D
