  1. Full video is 1.5gb lol here is the fast version interesting a lot of flashes but hardly visible on the can. VERY active storm IMG_7807.MOV
  2. WOW. just watched the Peterborough storm plough through on that webcam
  3. Caught some sheet lightning on that - and managed to screen cap and ffwd the playback - lovely incoming storm but hardly any visible lightning
  4. Google weather now showing 3 hours of thunderstorms for us this afternoon
  5. Peterborough and Spalding Gliding Club Webcam WWW.CAMSECURE.CO.UK Live low bandwidth IP camera view from the Peterborough and Spalding Gliding Club viewing the wind sock from a Camsecure IP camera. Although a low bandwidth site we can still pull useable... soon, soon…
  6. I’m actually quite cagey about elevated storms that occur before teatime, if the light is bright enough you’ll see structure but struggle to catch anything electrical. Recalling a storm near Alton a few years back where there was one constant rumble for about 2 hours and I saw absolutely no lightning at all. Was an experience but not worth the time, fuel and effort really. mind you that day was the day I was in the vicinity of a positive strike which actually set the floor on fire - so that was cool
  7. I did consider chasing up to Oxford, but to be honest it’s just a bit of thunder and lightning and possible tornado. Big deal
  8. Not being funny but I was pretty spot-on with the Wokingham Supercell prediction. Okay 25 -50 miles off, and it’s yet to fully develop - but other than that please pass me the “forecaster of the year’ award
  9. Look on sat and you’ll see where the biggest showers / storms are is generally where airmasses are meeting and the direction change is forcing the warm air coming from the south upwards. We’ve got no convergence in the south, so it generally fizzles out, meaning the air remains primed for the point at which it converges further north.
  10. No lightning visible. Radar showing very little too but that’s not to say it’s going off above that cloud layer and we just don’t see it
  11. Google going for thunderstorm HERE in the CENTRAL SOUTH at 3pm! woop! I Jaffa cake you not!
  12. It’s almost like we made the storms here, and gave them away … unusual, that
  13. Just imagine if this produced the storm of the century over Wokingham Worried I chose the wrong day to run my open-air tissue paper festival
  14. Well there was absolutely no cloud forecast for us 24 hours ago, now the forecast is for a couple of hours of rain. What’s the point in having a forecast then? I may have planned to alphabetise my nitro-glycerin and sodium collections in the garden today - based on information from the forecasts - but now they would get ruined!
