  1. Another pulse of very heavy rain now working it's way into the region from the southwest.

Just had a few intense downpours here, this will only add to flooding issues with combined snow melt from earlier snow and more rain this week to start with.

All in all, pretty poor start to April!

No sign of spring warmth up here either with temperatures around average.

  2. So falling snow still on the cards for many tomorrow morning. Above 200m this will fall all morning with some decent accumulations above 250-300m.

Temporary slushy accumulations likely on ground around 100-150m and above.

Snow in heavier bursts will fall to low ground away from coastal areas.

All in all a very miserable, cold, wet day for many tomorrow.

Some places a good 10.c warmer tuesday afteroon.

  3. If you want a last snow fix you best get your hiking boots on as it will be high ground above 250m for any settling snow tomorrow.

Still a chance of some brief sleet/snow very early in morning otherwise just a rather wet Monday.

Been trending this way the past couple of days now, sure metoffice will update warning again to probably focus more on scotland.

Doc, do you mean tomorrow, or Monday mate?

I was under the impression it was arriving overnight/ early morning Mon. Not being picky, just have out of touch with the models last couple of days and I am due to go fishing Monday. Ml

Tomorrow mate, the morning will see a mixture of rain, sleet and snow. This of the showery nature.

This falling as sleet and snow more readily during the early hours and may give slight covering on high ground above 250m

Colder air now moving over the region.

Mondays snow now looking more likely to be restricted to high ground with many places east of peninnes seeing a brief spell of sleet/snow as it moves up from thr south.

  5. Home from the lakes.

Was sleet/snow this morning over there, nothing heavy. Then started snowing around highest point on A66, again nothing heavy and only settling on highest hills. Then just heavy rain with a little sleet in heavy bursts for rest of journey home.

Temp ranged from 1c to 5c with it only 3c at home.

  6. Monday looking very snowy, this will be long lasting falling snow as the front slows and stalls over us.

Temps will really struggle in places and i expect many will have a white easter.

Coastal areas and areas adjacent to east coast more likely to have rain along with low lying areas later as milder air creeps in.

Snow of the wet sticky variety, so some nice scenes for some hilly areas.

Unlikely to have much snow away from the Pennines on Monday temps look too high

I disagree, with persistant heavy ppn. Evaporative cooling will aid snow getting down to lower levels across most of the region.

This will really struggle to settle on ground below around 150m.

  8. Well what a stressfull start to my weekend away in the lakes.

Took me nearly 4 hours to get here due to A66 being closed and multiple diversions.

Then got to hotel and the room was terrible, made a complaint and the weren't interested... Paid £350 for a two night stay in a so called luxury hotel, when in reality i have stayed in better quality premier inns.

So demanded a refund and managed to get a room elsewhere at cheaper price and far superior room.

Rant over! At least i drove through a snow shower and plenty of snow drifts still on tops of peninnes and peaks
