some storms may make it east of the pennines later tomorrow evening
-
16.8c and 58mm please

Rather relentless this low cloud and gloom from north sea, be it northeast, east or south east.
If only this was mid winter guys

Cloud broke up around 10.30 in ripon and temps soon shot up to around 23.c by 1pm.
Temps dropped by 3.c on way home to Newton Aycliffe despite it still sunny, the chill of the wind was more noticable back home too.
Back to gloomy conditions tomorrow, maybe some thundery conditions later in week.
-
24.c here in ripon and as promised clear blue skies
-
I am in Ripon for the weekend, suppose to be sunny all day with temps possibly reaching 23.c
The wind been a notible thing down here which is certainly taking edge of the temps.
More low cloud and easterly seems likely for next week.
Small outside chance of a thundery shower here later this evening.
-
So that is it for a truely remarkable bank holiday weekend.
Loads of sun and blue skies and record breaking temps.
Today was cloudier and notably cooler across northumberland, especially near the coast... With temps near 10.c difference to those further south across teeside (inland)
Another warm day tomorrow then back to average.
-
22.c to 23.c the top temps for most today, the east coast doing very well too.
More of the same next few days and just a degree or so higher.
-
Yes it has been rather chilly overnight and even during the daytime temps rather disappointing, certainly feels cool outside today and past couple of days actually especially in the wind.
No sign of any warmth in next 5 days, with temps only recovering to average by midweek.
rather boring if you ask me.

12.2c and 86mm please

Well last night just goes to show how hard it is to forecast storms.
However for april standards they were pretty impresive for those who got them

I had 26.2C in Gilesgate, Durham this afternoon, but not confident in it. Anyone else near Durham get anywhere near this?
Generally around 24 to 25.c with the highest temps down teeside way for our region.
-
Temps a tad higher than forecast for some, just over 24.c in parts of teeside.
Sweaty melons and nackers day!
Shame it wont last, still nice weather ahead till sunday, just not as warm.
-
A bit mixed today, some decent sunny spells but also plenty of cloud and some showers late morning/early afternoon with the breeze taking edge off temperature.
Tomorrow will again be mixed with most of the rain hopefully staying out west.
Wednesday afternoon and thursday the peak of the heat and long sunny spells.
-
After some early morning brightness, it is rather cloudy again here. much warmer feel to the day mind.
Think it will be midweek before we see long sunny spells and by then temps in the high teens (possibly 20-22.c on Thursday)
Some rain likely tomorrow afternoon too.
-
Another very dissapointing day with temps not getting above 6.c again. Even had some hail mixed in the rain earlier this evening.
Thankfully from tomorrow afternoon an improving story with temps on the rise but still some hefty showers and rain through weekend and to start next week.
Thereafter, increasing sunshine, southerly winds and maybe 22.c by thursday next week.
Early taste of summer!

Looks promising, could be higher than that by mid next week onwards.
Caution needed as a slight shift of wind off northsea can make a real difference to eastern parts of our region as the north sea is at its coldest now.
Which in turn is giving us a real cold and damp few days at the moment and temps more akin to january.

Yes agree it did turn into a lovely day. Not sure why we have this warning in place looking at the radar it's all very light stuff moving up from the south
Not so light this morning, more to do with total accumulations over the warning period and some sodden ground?
Spring on hold for the rest of this week.
Shame as it was lovely yesterday and eventully got my first bit of work done in garden lol

Today must have been one of the sunniest days of the year so far?
Still a nip in the air and turning chilly now sun setting.

Rain in Darlington
Strange, still snowing now... Just light mind.

Colder air well established here now, all snow falling in Aycliffe. Nothing heavy, but steadily falling.
Incredible really now to 5 hours ago.

Very tricky by the looks of it, a line of storms expected to develop, but where this sets up is anyones guess. Also a more organised area of heavy and thundery rain should move up over eastern coastal areas later.
I am hoping to see something tomorrow
