Yep lovely sunny day nearly 4c, not much wind. As per previous convo Monday still looks bright and sunny and no rain. By wed giving nearly 10c, which to be honest it hasnt been that far short in this so called cold spell. This time of the year the sun just has to shine and it feels warm now.

Has it changed from this then today. Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Remaining cold. Mainly cloudy Saturday with spells of rain and strong northerly winds. Brighter Sunday with lighter winds and some showers. Mainly bright and dry Monday, especially eastern parts. Updated at: 1435 on Thu 3 Mar 2016

Proving my point about those stupid rain/snow charts. Latest MO forecast for Monday is dry. Period. Not to say the MO forecast will be 100% correct, but having looked at those snow/rain charts over many weeks now, that are about 0-10% right.

You are very right in posting them no cherry picking just what they show... Its just I personally feel they are very poor, every time some one posts a chart to show snow, my heart skips a beat, but then I realize dont hold yr breath. lol......

I mean those Hirlam ones show rain over the south/south east at 9pm fri. The nearest the MO radar has any rain is north of the wash to Cardiff. It will change of course, but total poo charts.

Why do people post those pretty useless snow charts, none of them have been any good this winter. Those hatched lines are as good as my child drawing on them, esp the GFS ones. They are hardly worth the space here on NW, not to be bias the NW ones arent up tp much either lol...

Yep roll on spring. ANy thing that fell out of the sky today even now is all rain. Still not seen a snowflake yet.

Really exciting getting snowflakes in rain. At least get excited for a proper snow shower even if it does melt in 2 mins. Thats what you should expect in March/April in north westerlies. Blimey this is a winter of total poo. Take out December and its not even that warm, just never cold.

The soil was lovely to work with over the last couple of days. Far better than the solid wet mess it is when we have constant south westerlies. Main rain just about to arrive.

Its always a shame that the more interesting weather presenters dont get more time to explain and educate us. They always seem to in other countries....

Forget this next week, I think the week after IE next weekend onwards reading between the lines is when things might get interesting. Reading the views from the more experienced personnel, gives me great hope for some proper cold. well for March...

Told my girls, it would snow later in the winter like end jan onwards. Youngest is still asking, dad you know you said it would snow late in the winter!!! I am quietly hoping from a proper dump of it, even if it last for just a couple of days. At this rate its wishing for heavy snow showers at best.

Well it doesn't help in the fact that the air is being mixed in with the Atlantic high pressure. Also it just aint cold enough across the north sea into Europe, not to say it wont snow though.

Cloudy dull depressing. 5c No sun, lots of cloud, no rain, just dull, mod east wind. At least in a day or two for 3/4 days its not even a marginal chance of snow, its rain rain rain.

Lucky lucky. Been cloudy all day, this morning early some bright bits, last 2 hours just overcast.

How depressing Fergie confirmed in the MOD thread, that March appears to be below average for the whole month according to EC monthly. Also another will it wont it, end of next week. As exciting as Dallas who shot JR. Maybe just maybe snow wishers may get their desires.

Main frost was here at 1am then just above freezing after 4am, but only just. Still had to scrap off ice on wind screen at 8am though. Now over3c.

3rd night on the trot below -2cm much like last week when we had 3 frosts on the trot. However hardly cold is it. To get what the MOD thread want, the met has to say words like very, extremely colder than average and anything that falls out of the sky will be white. Having said that, get a really windy north/north westerly with deep cold embedded, you can have some fantastic snow/hail showers once March gets going, this will be our best bet for white stuff out of the sky.

Does anyone care any more lol. Seeing as latest MO update says odd shower with no wintry mentioned and temps at 7c again I very much doubt it. This cold spell would be very good in the middle of Africa.

When they give a quick over view of a few days time, its more a "be prepared" sort of info. I dont tend to worry about it going wrong. Its when they get it very wrong for within 24 hours or even same day that I get sort of upset. This does tend to happen quite a lot. However its the weather you aint never going to be 100% right.
