    Cracking clear night. Below freezing with frost on car most unusual in November esp as close to the sea. Cloudy now which is a shame.

    I remember driving down to Dover in 1993 I think, over the hills down there in 6-8" snow, never forget that. Then driving the other side of the channel on solid snow/ice, yes in November and it being -4c in Holland by 2pm. So yes it can be somewhat severe in November.

    Just normal Nov weather for down here. Bit of wind bit of rain. Zero to get excited about. Totally different for up north though. Shame its another sat outside wasted. Next sat should be nice and fresh and cold.

    Finland may have been very warm days ago. However in the Arctic Circle winter has arrived, everything is nicely white at Rovaniemi.

    Wow the first time for days and days and days, a clear sky to start the day.

    I think that all the signs point to a late winter a la after the new year. Forget anything meaningful till Jan/Feb, apart from odd short snaps if we are lucky. Also feel that we could get a real deep cold blast, when it does come. The biggest problem could be that it stays cold into early springtime. This is based on nothing more than my views and mainly for this part of the UK.

    Wow that is some serious warm temps, esp this time of the year.. However being the Alps, one major cold front and there is 1m snow everywhere and temps below freezing. Unlike here, lol...

    Day after day of no sun is SAD making. Beautiful frost to wake up to makes the lack of snow bearable.

    I can understand people not liking cold. However to wake up and see everything covered in frost is a beautiful site.

    This is the part of autumn/winter that drives people with SAD nuts. Its enough to make sane people go nuts. Days upon days with no sun. Will those people who wanted a change stand up to be fired. At least with the high we had sun and fog.

    Everything stays wet outside, wooden doors hardly fit anymore, cars steam up all the time unless on long journey. Its as bad as cold north easterly producing constant drizzle. Its to warm to have heating on not that I have had central heating on, but a log stove, on for an hour and its open all windows and revert to swim wear.

    Those pics look more suitable for August, lol... Mind you its not that unusual for it to be snow less now. Its just as you say over 2500/3000m

    Agree agree agree. This must be the worst weather going. If its going to be 15/17c in Nov great but can it be sunny as well, even just a couple of hours.

    Happens a lot in light rain it seems. I have often seen that happen.

    According the the much maligned CFS that Weather-web use a lot. From the third week of Nov its Atlantic high and lower heights over Europe, given more of a northerly and lower than average temps until 2/3rd week in Dec. Any thoughts...

    If that chart actually happened (ha ha). The most striking first impression is where is that resident big blue/purple circle to the far left, its sitting due north of the UK.

    However that chart shows only 0 to 20% more than average unless I am reading it wrongly and far less just to the south of us. So it just shows an average Nov week 3. ??

    You do realise the way things seem to be going these days. There will be nothing then suddenly a meter dump of the stuff...... Any way better to have blue skies and beautiful views than warm and rain and gloom. Let it snow from December.

    Maybe the Express wants to be like the Sunday Sport. Who remembers headlines such as. World War 2 bomber found on the Moon. Bus found buried at the south pole. lol...
