  1. The high is in totally the wrong place summer or winter at the moment. So down here in the south east we end up with cloudy sunny bits and showers and the coolest area, actually after this summer I am looking forward to some fresher weather. However it doesn't really seem much cooler, feels sort of damp.
  2. Why its only the most southern parts that are over average, parts of EA have only 50% rainfall, in fact most parts of the country seem to be average or below average.
  3. 15.5c not much wind. Looking dull wet, moderate rain without being to heavy so far.
  4. Well I see Calais has been blockaded again and 3 ferries stuck outside. I reckon they have a pretty good light show to keep them awake or to stop the boredom.
  5. Well it aint going to be that lot, what a wonderful line, showing on the continental channel/north sea coast.
  6. MInd you lets hope they all predict mild and stormy, that means on recent success rates it should be like the depth of an Siberian winter. :yahoo:
  7. I really dont want them to be right, mild and stormy please no. I dont mind wet and wild odd spells but not weeks on end. I remember the late nineties were like that, so depressing.
  8. Well I don't know what happened to Mondays being ok. It looks dire, will it really rain all day as its looks like, that was not on the cards. Tonight's rain looks hit and miss. Never mind by Thursday kids will be happy to go back to school. Looks like a nice wet spell and whatst he betting on end Sept/Oct being record hot type weather. :D
  9. Funny when you mention average temps 2.5c above normal in this country many say what a crap summer we had. Its basically an amazing summer over the continent middle/south west areas, having said that the same conditions would make skiing pretty hard to come by over the winter with high pressure ruling the alps. Nothing wrong with 2300m, it just looks so pretty and easy lol... mind you a 7km run is excellent, skied somewhere in my distance past that had a 7km off piste run, might have been St Anton or Verbier.
  10. WE are all very happy for you, have you had no mains water recently, lol......
  11. Properly a naive question however. When does an all year snow/ice patch become a glacier, is there a technical classification.
  12. The rain parted its ways over us, virtually nothing. Normal service resumed.
  13. They obviously not used to proper rain in those parts lol.. Yet again prime example of how these conditions over lat few days is impossible to forecast on rain chart.
  14. YOu lot getting it now seeing as we had it all the other day. Just been drizzle bits here, windy and very humid and sticky.
  15. Funny you look at that lovely photo and it doesn't even look high enough for it to be a ski area in winter.Just looks like rolling hills, no classic steep mountains.
  16. Personally I am not a fan of the NMM rain charts. Also these type of conditions I find that its a really big guess from any rainfall chart, Its a within 2 hour range and even then its not always right. The main rain base is far more south and running east rather than moving north east as forecasted yesterday eve.
  17. Wow we got 32mm rain yesterday top in East Anglia region. That doesn't happen very often. Nice fresh bright start to the day around 14c.
  18. Saw at least 10 lots of lightning with good thunder claps. Pretty impressive amounts of rain to. Seems like we hit the rain/storm jackpot this afternoon.
  19. Nice heavy bursts of rain, in between no rain bits, even some brightness at times. Much better than boring steady rain all day. No wind and doesn't even feel cool, around 17/18c here and strangely high humidity of 94% but sure doesn't feel it. Trouble is ambient temps is making the house heat up real quick if windows are only open a bit, so have to keep opening front and back doors to cool house down.
  20. If they do there will never be a dull moment, because if it isnt going to be much happening in the near future, just think how many plagues storms heatwaves droughts tempests swarms of locusts will be forcasted.
  21. Oh well that's one less program to watch, sorry but I doubt anyone else can do a decent job.
  22. It seems to be a very short band of rain moving through today here. Tomorrow and Tuesday very different kettle of fish. Bright breezy morning.
