Temperature now at 1.2C and dropping steadily. The sleety shower just touched us here about an hour ago.It now looks as though any showers later on in the night will be all snow.Keep everything crossed.MIA

I hope you are right.
Really want this snow to happen. Can't remember the last time I woke up to that orange glow through the curtains but I can't help thinking I'm going to be disappointed. I guess I will have to just wait, watch lamp posts and see...

So wanting this snow event to happen but past experiences (many) have shown me that...
"a night of lamppost watching does not maketh a snowfest ... Just a tired Snowsie"

Glad you like itSnowsie, can I ask a nosy question? Is the amazing pic in your avatar taken around here (i.e. Solihull park perhaps), or from somewhere else?
It looks like a scene from December 2010 maybe.
Bish
It was taken a couple of weeks ago (December 28th) after the Boxing Day snowfall while I was lucky to be on hols in Derbyshire at Darwin Forest (bit like a smaller centreparcs). Hoping to get a similar pic from a solihull park very soon

Thanks MIA
On way now and just coming to the bottom of the hill by Matlock and the snow had turned to rain/sleety mix.
Still flakes at moor when we left at 9.30

Just packing car up and it is snowing here at Darley Moor. Not much...but definitely snow!
-
DWW
It seems as though I have been exaggerating my height above sea level.
It is only 130.493M above sea levelaccording to your daft application.
So its 9.5 extra snowflakes only for me.
MIA
I have gone up in the world...now at 99m exactly using the same app
Thanks DWW

Seriously...am I the lowest asl?
Anyone beat 91m?
-
Just looked up where I live and I'm at 91m....definitely need to move to higher ground

Coming back from Darley Moor (300m) to solihull (?) in the morning. If we get snow up here overnight I will NOT be wanting to go home unless it's a solihull snowfest! (Anyone know how high asl Birmingham airport is lol)
-
I would be loving it if we come back to Solihull on Saturday and are greeted by a snowfest! Until then I will make the most of the snow that I have left here even though it is now getting slushier by the minute and will probably be a large puddle by morning. We have been so lucky this year arriving in Derbyshire (for a holiday booked 12 months ago) the morning after the Boxing Day snowfall and we have had so much fun sledging, making snowmen and generally messing about in the cold white stuff. Really don't want to go home
