skies seem to be exploding to my n/e pretty looking cauliflower heads popping up, pity as my phone not picking them up clearly, gotto really zoom in then you lose the shear size of them -
skies here looking rather stormy, also had some impressive mammatas a little while ago, feeling very humid this evening, wasnt expecting anything but the skies made me check up and look what we have ok ok so its a small possibility that something may make it here, but a possibility is better than nothing right

Was sat in the garden watching the darker clouds rolling in, could see clouds building nicely behind the dark ones, then noticed the darker clouds were rotating, within a couple of minutes this appeared, sorry for the quick crappy pic, I took 3 but this was the best, within another minute or 2 it disappeared, very very odd, last time this happened was during a nice storm but nothing happening this time, a couple of minutes later we had very large drops of rain, something building? omg the pic is sideways, dont know how to rotate it...

Feeling rather warm and muggy here, sat outdoors and already within 10 mins feel like I'm burning, lovely blue sky with a few high clouds floating by, already been out in the convertible to cool off haha, fingers crossed we will get something here, it certainly feels like we will. Good luck to all and stay safe those who are chasing xxx

hiya all, hoping any of you lovely people on here can help me out, it may be a silly question but am trying to learn a bit more here, i do understand the way a storm brews up and some of the mechanisms of storms, but im wanting to know a bit more about the heating element, idealistically youd have pleanty of surface heating ie sun coming through and warming the ground for the heat to rise, but on a day like today does that really matter when the storms have already kicked off, does the sun build the top of the storms for them to rise further or does the heating need to come from the ground, basically if like me at the moment youve got full cloud cover, a few breaks which allows the sun to come through for a few short minutes here and there, is that enough for the storms to carry on building from above, or would the lack of surface heat rising help kill off the storms. what would the ideal weather be for storms to better build, can having a strong sun and heat above the cloud cover keep these little beautys going and for that matter keep them building or do you need idealistically more surface heat. yes info for today but also for future reference xx hope youre all well and enjoy any storms you do al get -
