  1. Lovely day here. Still hoping for storms for tonight/tomorrow
  2. All the alto- cumulus has dissapeared completely. It's a bit hit and miss if surrey be in with a chance tomorrow.
  3. Not sure if this has been said already, but the met office have a yellow warning for rain & frequent lightning on Friday over hampshire.
  4. Today has been a day of two halves, cloudy, wet and windy until around 1200 and then cloudy with some sunny spells from around 1201 . I know this is mainly for the storm and convective thread, but what is happening with the plume on Friday?
  5. Just tried the URL thing instead, and that had obviously worked fine for me.
  6. I am currently looking for my binoculars for Friday/Saturday (apparently not Sunday or Monday according to the Storm & Convective thread). Tut, can't find them...
  7. Hi Paul and the netweather team, it isn't letting me upload pictures. I click upload, and nothing happens. For example today I wanted to change my profile picture. I pressed the button to open a picture, pressed open and then it said that it was uploaded. I clicked 'done' and it hadn't changed it at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rain123
  8. stun12's profile picture dog looks strangely familiar on this thread... What happened to Lassie's dog?
  9. Hi everyone, I am visiting relatives in New Milton on the coast, near Lymington, so I have been on the South West forum today as I think that is more appropriate. It was chucking it down, very heavy indeed. Not much wind during the rain but felt cold. I must say though, it was nothing of particulate note though. I was certainly disappointed with the lack of T&L...
  10. In 2014 I saw some mammatus-like clouds. They were really grey-almost black and produced... ...4-5 spots of rain (small drops). Roll on Summer!!!
  11. It has gone very dark and is starting to rain in New Milton...
  12. Jesus, that squall line intensified quickly!
  13. If it is anything like the July 18th storms last year, then I'll be happy.
  14. I thought I would come over to this thread today because I am visiting relatives in New Milton. Overcast here, but some lovely cloud patterns that remind me of the 'before-the-Spanish-plume' thunderstorm in Ash Vale that went mental with Lightning. The Spanish plume completely missed Ash Vale . I see the squall line forming on the radar, but as Dorsetbred said, it could miss us on the coast.
  15. A bit cloudy out at the moment. Like Lukey G said, some lovely cloud structure and patterns about. Just had a few spots of rain, and feels quite pleasant out.
  16. I have just been under that, and I can tell you that it's nothing special. Just a few spits and spots of rain.
  17. Then what is happening around Ipswich at the moment? The models aren't always correct... Nice day today, however cloud increasing in the afternoon with a few dribs and draps of rain.
  18. Yay-a distant rumble o' thunder. No precipitation as yet though... Some VERY dark skies to my west...
  19. Hmm, its not letting me put on screenshots, but the 1800 radar looks like storms are going to engulf and eat London.
  20. Wow, I am moderately close and we havnt had any since around 1700. I have a very good view of the southern skyline only, and can only see some Cumulus clouds around.
  21. Wow- the first proper convective day of the year in my opinion. It started out nice with some beautiful anvils going past (however not over us), and also some HUGE towers from Cumulonimbus clouds (cumulonimbi?). Then at around 14:00, their was a heavy hail shower with one rumble of thunder (although I didn't see the lightning). That went and throughout the afternoon we have had moderate showers (nothing of particular interest). Then at around 1700 we had a hail shower, no thunder though.
  22. Well, today was a bit of a mixed bag. We had lots of drizzle in the early morning with next to none wind. Then the wind got up by around 1000 with some heavier rain. That continued to around 1300, then the rain stopped and it turned into a day with sunny spells, however the wind is still a prominent feature. Hopefully a rumbe or two tonight or tomorrow...
