    Apparently a polling station in Nottinghamshire has got struck by lightning! This courtesy of the BBC: A polling station in Nottinghamshire has apparently been struck by lightning. The polling station - at Strelley in the Broxtowe constituency - has lost its electricity, according to returning officer Ruth Hyde.

    Had some heavy showers around today, they probably feel worse because of the squally wind. But feels pleasant in the sun.

    We had a very heavy shower at about 0445, the rain was bashing the windows so hard, the wind was growling and in heavier parts of the shower, smell hail was present.

    Has been dry today with varying cloud, but... ... the wind is very gusty today!! Even when their are no showers near, the wind is really squally and gusty!!! Will there be any chance for the odd rumble of thunder or something more significant in the south tomorrow?

    Oh well, even if it doesn't thunder, I still have memories of July 2014 when their was that massive storm in the night (anyone else remember it?). Lightning struck a tree just down the road from me ; the thunder literally shook the ground and the windows shook with the force!!

    Was a nice day, but increasing cloud cover with now 100% cloud and some rain . I dont think their will be a thunder chance until around 0500-0600 this morning. What I do is I go to bed with the curtains open on nights with storms. As a really light sleeper, if there is Thunder & Lightning I wake up and look on netweather radar, and if there is none, then I sleep. Oh, it posted twice for some reason.

    Hmm, not very cloudless at all here. Although pleasent, their is a lot of high level cloud to my south with some cumulus to my north.

    Quite a pleasant start to the day here, however to my south I see some high level cloud, and to my north a few cumulus convective clouds.

    Yep - all done. The wind has suddenly got very gusty here and now with some very light rain. Oh well...

    Hi, I am Rain123 and this is my first post! After a wet start, today was quite nice with some lovely cloudscapes and some sunny intervals. However, it feels a bit humid, which I dislike. It was a good day for radar watching, however the storms missed here .
