New Weather warnings out for Fri/Sat. Don’t bother looking if you live in the Bristol area. Not looking good.

Just a hunch but I think it will flip again by tonight. I expect early weather warnings to go out for our region later for Thursday/Friday potentially for 10cm plus. It will be interesting to see what Ian F’s take on things are on Twitter today and his Points West broadcast tonight. As I say just a hunch.

Looking like a very typical Easterly setup. Snow for the East coast, snow showers for east of England, East Mids and the odd snow flurry for the western side of the UK. Breakdown next week will be rain and sleet up to Glos where it will then start to turn to snow and give a decent event for areas further North. Dry for most of west between now and next week then a little wintryness before turning milder.

You have to laugh about the MOD thread it’s like a game of Top Trumps. My prediction of snow totals beats your prediction. Grown up adults arguing about possible snow depths. Laughable really. Anyway let’s hope we Top Trump the SE by getting 40cm next Wed/Thurs ????

Don’t venture into the model thread there’s a huge South East party going on with the latest ECM run. Although likely to get really cold I can’t see our area benefiting much from this Easterly spell with regards to big snow falls. We are relying on organised fronts or snow showers developing and making it across this far west. We may have to wait for a potential breakdown of the cold spell from a front coming up from the SW before we hit the snow jackpot.

Looking good for our region this weekend if things go our way the West Country could get a pasting, perhaps Sunday night our best shot.

Yes very poor ECM for Midlands south cold rain. Can someone explain why the borderline between snow or rain seems to be consistently modelled to change to snow around the midlands north? -

I’m so confused are the best snow chances heading north into the Midlands now. Midlands forum going nuts with the system a lot further north? Please don’t say this will turn into a midlands event again.
