  1. With that approaching river levels here are at great risk of overflowing. Hopefully we get a bone dry summer 2020 to sort this mess out before the next deluge!
  2. Pouring here again now after a 2 hour dry spell from the soaking today. Saw the local farmer again this morning, worst he’s seen it in many years and he’s really concerned as it’s only December. I’m Praying for a dry period, but have a feeling this rain is in for the long haul this winter.
  3. Just seen the BBC 1 evening news forecast. Relentless rain over the next 48hrs in the form of bands sweeping up from the south. Really worrying - the surface water here just laying dormant almost, with nowhere to go.
  4. That’s the burning question I guess. The fear of brown grass and dry ground in summer 2019 was never required as we are well watered in now. If another dry spell occurs in 2020 will the fear of brown grass and dry ground be required? Who knows.... But the fear will happen nevertheless The beauty of British weather, rollacoaster that finishes where it begun.
  5. That’s what I mean, hopefully this wet Autumn/so far winter will prevent the irrational fear of no rain next year in a summer month. Not over exaggerated either, I can guarantee this wet spell will be a distant memory come next summer if we have a dry spell.
  6. Hopefully this will prevent folk screaming for rain, because it hasn’t rained in 14 days during a summer month in 2020. Doubt it though.
  7. Another soaking wet day. Rained most of daylight hours. In 4 weeks I’ll be in Montreal thank god. My snow and cold yearly fix. A city that has proper seasons.
  8. Darren Bett just on the BBC1 news evening weather. Gleaming smile and upbeat voice because it turns wet, windy and mild AGAIN this week. Is he aware that most of the UK is saturated with surface water and bogged landscape, irritating tw*t!!
  9. Rain started here again this evening. What I’d do for this chart to verify, probably a 5% chance but a 5% chance more than any snow or cold to replace this mind numbing boring rain.
  10. Yes at the beginning of November I also went for The wet weather to continue but got slated on the regionals. Here we are, 15th December and the landscape round my area is saturated with nowhere for the water to go - I’m going with another 6 weeks of wet weather despite the cherry picked fantasy rainbow charts on the MOD thread.
  11. Pouring down here at +3c Spoke to local farmer on the dog walk this morning, desperate for a long dry spell like me it seems.
  12. At least 5 days of dry weather ahead from Friday for my location. At last.....
  13. Drains and rivers round here are so full. Country roads are like ponds as no where for the insane amount of water to go. The HP this weekend into next, is going to be a welcome relief to say the least.
  14. Miserable day here. Dark with slate grey skies and wet everywhere. At least last week was dull but dry. Hoping a whopping HP sets up over us for beginning of December to send the rain away, if it isn’t going to snow and turn colder.
  15. Fair dos. I wasn’t getting you to like anything just pointing out when you said like ‘variety’ yet your downbeat when it’s not raining or storming for a few days. anyhoo.. the rains back tomorrow and your definitely living in the right country for it
  16. We’ve had 4/5 days of dry weather, 2 of those included frost mornings and beautiful sunrises this week. Today was cloudy and cold after weeks of cold rain and floods. How can 1 day of nothingness drain the spirit? For folk that work outside (me) and to all the homes and businesses flooded this week has raised our spirits. Not much variety so far this autumn, the game leader is cold rain, grey and miserable. Default reset tomorrow....
  17. At least it would be dry. An Atlantic dominated, barrelling low pressure systems with endless cold rain is even more disgusting.
  18. Beautiful crisp frosty morning here. Making the most of the few days of dry weather this week before more rain sets in.
  19. Ah I could do with a nice Malbec right now to warm me up. I done Go Sober for October and carried it through to November. But with all this rain I don’t know how much longer I can last
  20. Just back from a long dog walk. Can’t believe how wet and bogged the ground is here. Well I can actually with the relentless rain just didn’t realise the severity of it. Need a very long dry spell to balance things out now, but with 4 more winter months of this, it’s only going to get worse.
  21. Pouring down here. Desperate for a break from this relentless rain and it’s only beginning of November. 5 more months of this....
