  1. Stunning on the dog walk this morning, the rain has turned the landscape into a lush deep green. More rain forecast into next week although nothing on the levels as the past couple weeks. So far early summer 2019 walking into a polar opposite of last year. Like I have always banged on about when folk cry for rain post 7 days of dry weather = this is the UK, it will always balance out. Hopefully come July we get to have some dry & hot weather before the Autumn rains.
  2. Stopped raining here. Was heavier rain on Friday. Still lots on radar to change that though. Fingers crossed the pivot and stall is to the north of here as some sources are suggesting.
  3. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the definition of a monsoon a 100 days of torrential rainfall. Its not a monsoon, it’s a day of heavy rain. Hopefully things will dry out 2nd half of June and the British countryside will look very picturesque indeed.
  4. SW thread reporting some noteworthy Thunderstorms. Pretty benign over our patch currently
  5. Hi Lauren, Been refreshingly nice today to experience a few hours of heavy rain. Yes I really did just say that Summer rains are less depressing than winter, the roads and pavements dry up very quickly and more sunlight hours to make up for it.
  6. Watching radar and ppn really gathering momentum out west. Some bright colours. Bristol up towards West Mids looks good for a potential storm.
  7. Beautiful afternoon here. Rain tomorrow until early afternoon, then sunshine and showers Dry weekend coming up on our patch confirmed by Nick Miller on BBC evening weather just now. (Thankfully he didn’t refer to tomorrow’s NORMAL rain as ‘storm miguel’ )
  8. Managed to dodge the showers so far that crossed to my north today. More dry and settled weather coming up - perfect.
  9. Raining here, right on cue for bank holiday. Decent day today though, dry & felt warm in the sunshine. Hoping for more dry weather throughout June, ground drying up nicely and making good conditions for outdoor activities.
  10. On Saturday it rained most of the day in Ampthill whilst 10 minutes down the road it was dry. A rare event, but the BBC were mentioning on Friday evening that showers would be slow moving and stationary. Linslade has been bone dry for weeks? Wow.. I need to nip that Spanish holiday in the head and drive down to linslade to play in the dust. You managed to avoid all those downpours last week as well?
  11. Lucky you. My area got a soaking most of the day Saturday courtesy of a rain shower that stayed overhead for 5 hours. Thankfully yesterday and today has been dry. Chance for the ground to dry out.
  12. Great pics. throughly entertaining/funny watching media go mad at a 24c temperature in Scotland. Enjoy
  13. What a cracking day, not to hot, not to cool. Blue skies and perfect. On another note, hilarious watching & listening to media/radio forecasts bang on/ over excite about how Scotland gets to 24c for 2 days.....
  14. This is more like it. Blue sky & sunshine. The rain has finally done one... good riddance!!
  15. Felt very nice in the Sunshine today & only a 5 minute shower all day. Drying out now for the next 7 days (give or take) a chance for the ground to dry up from all the recent rain.
  16. What boring weather - rain and cold. Whoop dee do.. That beautiful fine weather in April seems a distant memory now. ‘Come on Sunshine’ - show ya face!!
  17. Out & about with the dogs this morning. Grey leaden skies and feels cold in the breeze
  18. My new garden pot flowers seem to be suffering this morning. Must of been fairly cold last night. Bring back the warm & sunny weather - much less damaging to vegetation than this dross.
  19. Just like when they decide to name a low pressure system into a storm name. Other parts of the world would cringe at our version of a ‘severe/noteworthy’ weather event.
  20. Pouring down here since 3pm Weve just put the central heating on to 20c Excuse for me & the better half to order pizza, glass of wine and cozy up this evening. Feels like early winter out there.
  21. Pleasant afternoon here after some rain moved through around midday Lovely to be playing football and walking dogs without getting caked in mud. Spoke to the farmer at the back of my house whilst walking today, everything seems hunky dory & whilst it’s been dry nothing of major concern at the moment. He said, A week of heavy rain before June should bode well for summer.
  22. A decent usable Sunday coming up for dog walking and footy. Have a good day folks.
  23. Hi Jimmy, Rain isn’t a problem for my neck of the woods though. Anglia water are confident of adequate water supplies, our resovoirs are normal and they were that confident they turned their pumps off last year. Until I get a letter through my door from my water supplier with concerns - I’m not concerned. I follow Anglia water on social media and there’s nothing to worry about. Resoviors are 15% lower than a decade average with no major concern. Please tell me why I should be worried about rainfall?
  24. The ‘we need rain’ posts. We live on the path of the Gulf Stream. It will balance out. Always does. I’m making the most of it instead of worrying that one of the wettest countries in Europe gets to have another dry useable weekend.
