  1. Wet snow turned to sleet now. A cold, wet and soggy morning dog walk ahead
  2. Woken up to very wet snow falling and a soaking wet ground here in Bedfordshire Roll on summer
  3. Me too. Got everything crossed for a splendid summer and lots of warm summer evenings chilling in the garden.
  4. Agree, have you seen the Hirlam 18z? downgrade in terms of snowfall compared to 12z and I find that ppn model the best/most accurate at this timeframe. Not expecting anything apart from a bit of wet snow and my location is in current meto warning.
  5. Fingers crossed it losses intensity. Really worrying the river levels and flooded plains here. Never seen it like this.
  6. Hope not. Flooded plains here are awful, feel for the wildlife who depend on grazing in these fields.
  7. Heartbreaking seeing the news reports from Wales. Homes and businesses destroyed through flood waters. Absolute drenching here today, fields/lakes/river streams basically anywhere that isn’t a road seems to be under water on my drive home this afternoon. Shocking on the A505 to see the fields to my left under water. Devastating. Local farm had to rescue the horses from the floods. We need a very very long dry period and fast!!
  8. Had a sleet shower this afternoon. What a pathetic winter. Roll on summer I walked home from school 10 times worse in the late 80s early 90’s before media decided to name a wind gust a storm name! yawn..... Dennis!
  9. Soaking rain here past hour. Slightly clearer weather passing over. 5c under the rain and already back up to 7c now. Windy yes. But nothing unusual.
  10. Lovely day today, out and about with the doggos.. Perfect! Windy day tomorrow forecast, along with rain. I wish I could get excited about wind & rain during this awful winter we are experiencing. Yawn.... Roll on spring and to boiling hot dry summer.
  11. At least that chart is dry. Lots of “boredom” needed around here with months of soaking.
  12. Hi Everyone, lunchtime here in Montreal and it’s -10c with light snow falling. Seen 2 incredible snow events here since arriving and snow pretty much falling everyday from light showers to full on blizzards and it’s set to turn frigid cold tonight with -22c expected. I fly back next week and I’m glad to hear it’s finally stopped raining but not so glad to hear the 10 day chase is, as it were in November. Thankful to see snow this winter just a pity it wasn’t outside my own front door (Can’t beat snowfall at home)
  13. Hi FWTD, Yes the cold & snow is usually pretty epic in Montreal with only the odd flirting mild spell where temps can creep up to high single figures but it doesn’t last long. Some of my family are still there and never migrated so I’m lucky enough to get my snow and sometimes summer fix (it’s hot in summer) I go every winter and you are almost guaranteed to see snowfall. My older generation family who moved to London, are happy with our climate would you believe, never gets that cold and never gets that hot (outside exceptions) Although they still laugh at Brits, when apparently it’s bitter at 2c... that’s a mild winter day in a Montreal.
  14. Happy New Year folks. Anyone else got a food baby going on? Anyway, in true UK style January 2020 starts with no snow or cold in the reliable. Thankful I’m getting my fix from this, Heading to Montreal on Monday for 2 weeks. A city that has proper seasons.
  15. Beautiful day here today. The crap winter charts are the least of my worries. I’ve actually managed 24hrs with no rainfall for the first time in what feels like months!
  16. Thankfully that chart is Days away. More cold rain on soaking ground with Northern Hill snow. Riveting. Same dross.
