  1. More Atlantic crud today with a soaking wet drive to work, temps mild at 11c Ground bogged and fields flooded here. No cross model agreement of a dry out/ colder weather in the foreseeable either. Very autumnal rather than winter. Hopefully January brings more settled seasonal weather!
  2. It’s 9 days away. Pretty to look at but the timeframe to moan at. Bring it within 4 days then your post has some legs.
  3. In the reliable, just watched the countryfile week ahead forecast. More Atlantic mild junk ahead with rain and temps well into double figures for the week ahead. Nick Miller hinted at the end, that quieter, colder weather could follow thereafter. Let’s hope so, no more rain needed here. Fields & ground saturated here.
  4. Just having a smooch through the last 15 pages of the ‘hunt for cold’ thread. I don’t know how they do it, excited/ depressed/excited/depressed/excited back to depressed back to excited over charts 10- 17 days away. Sod that, I couldn’t do it.
  5. Bit of a damp blowy drive home from work this evening. ITV Anglia banging on about storm Diana bringing strong winds. Makes me cringe. Back in the day today’s weather wouldn’t have battered an eyelid to report. Just a normal autumnal/ early winter day. I walked home from school in weather much much worse and it was known as a windy day and wet day, that’s it! The naming of storms (not even a storm) = media hype.
  6. Stunning cold crisp November day today. Temps didn’t get above 3c all day which is where their sitting right now on drive home from work. If winter doesn’t deliver sunny-cold or snowy days, today was the next best thing in my opinion. Anything other than mild wet Atlantic rubbish. Met office not showing rain on my patch until next Wednesday which is only drizzle Some good useable days ahead for outdoor fitness
  7. Gritters out tonight for the first time heading into winter 2018/19 Slate grey skies coming up for my location for the next 5 days according to met office with temps in single figures But it’s dry, with no heavy rain (not needed) and no Atlantic muck, which is a good thing!
  8. Sun breaking through here now leading to a sunny weekend. Fresher air arrived and feels seasonal, much better than last weekends rain and Atlantic crap.
  9. @northwestsnow buddy I hope you don’t mind me using your post as example. 10 days ago = 10 days ahead CALM PEOPLE. Yes the ECM doesn’t match the stunning GFS.. how could it! Lots of changes for good or bad to come in the days ahead.
  10. Settled dry weather about to commence. Could last well into next week with it possibly turning foggy and chilly into weekend and beyond. Bye bye rain... you’ve outstayed your welcome.
  11. At least the fireworks had lift off @Surrey hope it went well. Yes chance of a little bit of a dry out next week, ground soaked here and stream and river levels looked higher than normal on the dog walk this morning. Hoping that nice anticyclone sets up this time next week as shown on some mods. No more heavy rain forecast here at least in the reliable, thank god.
  12. Been a decent Saturday here considering. Sunny this morning then partly sunny this afternoon. Half hour of heavy rain around 2pm. thunder & lightning more rare than snow here so not surprised to see that nothing materialised across the region (yet)
  13. Just watched BBC breakfast weather. They too are going for showers further south you are. Although tonight could be wet for all of us. Looking forward to next week. No rain.
  14. Meto got my location for a dry decent day today, with sunny spells. Hopefully any possible showers stay on southern coasts as predicted and the drying out period starts today here. Nice usable weekend ahead dodging the showers and no rain looks the theme next week.
  15. Once this grot clears overnight, Should be an ok weekend (November standards) bar the odd heavyish shower tomorrow, bulk of heavy showers to the SW and Wales. Next week looking dry and settled with no rain apart from chance of rain to East of region Monday Ground bogged here, so an opportunity for a dry out next week.
  16. Thanks for replying I understand about your shortfall of rain. I was just wondering what you meant by ‘proper autumn weather’ as autumn kicked off really well so far this year with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in and even had sleet at end of October here.
  17. Hi @Wimbledon88 What does ‘proper autumn weather’ mean? So far this autumn is been lovely autumnal weather, bright sunny days, frosty mornings, cold days, mild days and rainy days. Lovely autumnal colours against a backdrop of blue sky days equally against a backdrop of wet rainy grey days. Leaves fallen/falling Ground is drenched here with the bogged field muddy dog walks. Mums allotment seems to be doing really. We must have our own micro climate up here in Bedfordshire. Replenshing rains started weeks ago. Autumn doing Autumn really well so far considering it’s only 8th November.
  18. Foggy old start this morning with a chill that turned into a pleasant autumnal day. Give me this to the miserable wet Atlantic dross anyday. Any delay of rain here most welcome, I have dogs to walk and work outside! Meanwhile the ‘hunt for cold thread’ are wetting their pants because an ice age isn’t showing up on the models in the next 3 weeks on 5th November
  19. Temp 2.5c and heavy rain here currently. Muddy dog walk becons tomorrow morning!!
  20. Heavy sleet here on drive home from training. Clearly visible on car windscreen and temp of 3c Quite remarkable for October, let’s hope February 2019 follows suit just like February 2009 did after the October snow of 2008
  21. Another beautiful day. Clear blue skies and a real autumnal feel. Love this time of year when the weather is like this, all the colour changes with orange & red tree foliage against a bright blue sky backdrop. Northerly wind at the weekend with (hopefully not to much rain) and a further drop in temps down to around 9c, should welcome some more spectacular colours thereafter.
  22. Beautiful day here today. 18c with mainly sunny skies after a lovely autumn crisp morning. Stunning over the park at 8am today:
  23. Dull & grey here today, slightly milder feel than the gunk of yesterday but still chilly under grey skies. Temp up to 16c, far off the 22c being predicted by BBC. Pleasant weekend coming up with no rain and temps in high teens. Usable and good for dog walking and outdoor crossfit.
  24. Soaking wet all day yesterday with non stop rain. Fields saturated already here.
