  1. Some crazy charts out there again tonight. Imagine what something like this would return id high summer. Mid thirties or maybe higher. The dry and settled theme looks well set until the weekend of 9/10 November, when it could potentially change...though the NOAA anomalies out to the 14th still show an upper ridge and intense high centred over and just to the east of the UK.
  2. The weather continues to find new ways to troll us all....the most anticyclonic period of the year turns up in one of the most traditionally stormy points of the year. Where was this in summer eh! Looks like staying dry and on the milder side. Sunshine amounts will be hard to pin down at the moment. Very unusual to see the Atlantic stone dead in early November.
  3. Well....one of these is going to be very wrong!
  4. CryoraptorA303 Writtle (next to Chelmsford) reached 34c. I think you are over-thinking things
  5. Would have certainly seen 34.5c-35c here today without the cloud interference. Had 2 lumps of it now and it’s still made 34c. The humidity being above 50% is rank though. In dry hot spells it can get down around 30% and feels much better.
  6. CryoraptorA303 Liam Dutton has posted to say that Cambridge and Writtle have both recorded 33.9c….so it appears that the reading was fine.
  7. CryoraptorA303 Lakenheath, Stansted and Southend are all reporting 33c too. It seems fine to me.
  8. CryoraptorA303 I wouldn’t have thought it’s an error. 33.9c is perfectly plausible. The highest temps today were forecast to be north of London.
  9. CryoraptorA303 were back up to 33c here in Cambridge, had about 45 mins of cloud cover which rolled through and dropped temps. Cloud approaching again so I don’t think will see 35c here today.
  10. Outlook for next week has just been downgraded run by run, so much so that it is now looking like another awful week in what’s turning into one of the worst summers in memory. Simply dreadful. Another week of poor temperatures, no sun and more rainfall.
  11. Alderc 2.0 Absolutely horrendous. The lack of sun is the worst thing. Any hints from a few days ago of an improvement into late July look well off the mark now, with a continuation of the terrible summer so far. I also think it's just not meant to be this year, whenever the pattern tries to change like late June, the atmosphere just can't wait to revert back to a trough in NW Europe.
  12. Scorcher This morning's ECM run shows 2-3 inches of rain for many areas over the next 10 days. No warm up either with temps mid to high teens scraping 21-22c in the south occasionally. Not sure how you can paint that as anything other than dreadful!
  13. I’m pretty much done with this summer already. This whole year has been horrific, we fluked a few nice days at the end of June and now it’s just awful again with no relief in sight. Dreadful.
  14. Alderc 2.0 Laughably bad really. From don’t worry it won’t happen a few days ago, to nope, it’s happening. July and August have a lot of making up to do for June and the rest of the year so far!
