  1. There seems to be a lot of trees turning here too, although after a dull 6 weeks I think it's just the Autumnal version of Daffodils rearing their heads on a mild January morning. Summer time has temporarily returned now, anyway, so let's see if we can get some greenery back.
  2. We only moved in last August and the last owners had a load of shingles down so we have started from scratch. The plants are filling out nicely, so hopefully there will be nowhere for the little sh*ts (literally) to go.
  3. We have tried. Sprays don't work, lights don't work, putting gravel down doesn't work. An air gun probably would, but I suspect it is not allowed.
  4. You wouldn't be saying that if the local cats used your flower bed as a littertray.
  5. The weather here has been perfect since last friday. Low 20's and sun with little breeze. This is the summer weather I love, no 30+ stuff for me please.
  6. From a purely Anecdotal perspective August (and to a lesser extent July) have been terrible summer months (bar the odd exception) for some time. We tend to get good Mays, June's, Septembers and sometimes Octobers but the hottest months of the year just don't seem to deliver often anymore.
  7. I'll have an October 1987, a December 2010 and a large Fanta please.
  8. As long as October knows it's place this year. None of this Indian Summer nonsense please!
  9. The Great Storm of October '87. I was 18 months old at the time. My mum ran in my room after hearing a smashing sound to find me still asleep in my cot with a room full of Leaves, Conkers and shards of glass. If we're not restricted to one event, it would be December 2010. Absolutely unbelievable weather. I fear I will not see anything like it again in my life time.
  10. They'd be a lot more precious if I didn't have to keep peeling my Jacobs of my thigh.
  11. I would happily swap weather with those of you up north. Can't stand this muggy rubbish.
  12. A summary of my day today: Trousers. Shorts. Trousers. Shorts. Trousers. Shorts.
  13. After several days (well, nights) of little sleep I am more than ready for a return to normality. 24c here over the weekend. Much better.
  14. The North of France will be a smouldering crater come morning at this rate.
  15. Ah Bissau. The sailors best friend I have always wanted to experience a storm there. Some of the videos look incredible.
  16. Christ, what I'd give for some interesting weather. Aside from 2 snow events (1 very half hearted) and a couple of timid storms (Ok, Doris was good/bad) there has been naff all interesting in about a year now.
  17. It's very windy here in the South of Essex. bits of tree, road signs and a few stray bins in the roads. It must be ridiculous further north.
  18. The winter has been colder than average in the South East, no? We had the continental air timidly scratching past us (but delivering nothing) for what felt like an age.
