  1. It's a busy day on the roads and it's the most populated area of the country. That'll be why, I expect. Hitting over night and away from the South East I wouldn't expect this to be named.
  2. I have always loved storms and we tend to do quite well here in the South East, but last summer we had a storm that started 2 house fires, set off car alarms and generally sounded like a war had kicked off. After that I don't look forward to storms as much. It was scary.
  3. We all know Winters tend to come in mild/cool clusters with the odd extreme thrown in. Unfortunately, our current cluster is one of the US being shut in the freezer and sending the Jet stream flying straight at us. We can but hope it ends soon!
  4. Just had a 10 minute power cut here in Southend. This consequently lead to me spending 40 minutes in boots trying to buy som baby formula because it buggered their tills. Brilliant. Wind is off and on here. Gales at times then reasonably calm.
  5. Torrential rain and gales here is Southend, Essex. The real action is yet to arrive too!
  6. The towel is down and I am being sponged down in the corner. I await a Scandi high the moment we enter May.
  7. Beginning to think they should rename the model thread the '10 days time club'.
  8. Hi all, any thoughts on the potential Storm Imogen? The Met Office don't seem to be buying it at present?
  9. Sorry for the previous post, not sure what happened there! Anyway, the BBC are now on board with a northely blast next week. Hopefully the Met offices 'super top secret Area 51' models are showing them something good.
  10. Have I stumbled onto the Daily Express forum in error?
  11. Not yet, no. But... we did cave in and try to turn it on last week only to find it wouldn't come on. We're now waiting to have a new thermostat fitted!
  12. That's what every Christmas should look like. Bring back Charles Dickens climate!
  13. Lots and lots of rain here today. Torrential at times and lot of overflowing drains. Flooding at the bottom of some hills. Little in the way of lightning here but we did have the off rumble around 5 o'clock.
  14. Am I alone in hoping the beeb agree the contract with the provider the Daily Express use? Weekly blizzards. Monthly ice ages. Glorious.
  15. The BBC have found a more cost effective provider.
  16. 2 storms today. A fantastic one earlier, went eerily dark around lunch time and had torrential rain and t&l more or less over head. Another is going on right now. Lightning a bit too far to the west to be exciting, but a storm is a storm.
  17. Thunderstorms looking likely for our region Thursday and Friday with humid air arriving. Storms have been thinking on the ground this summer (having been spoiled last year) so I am hopeful the models are right.
  18. I am around a 9 on this scale. If snow is forecast over night I will check out the window every time I wake up. I will also stay up a little later to see it start. Lamp post watching is a time consuming hobby when winter rears it's head!
  19. There is a low, but worth mentioning risk of thunderstorms for the South East coast tonight. Fingers crossed.
