If you was to have the following for March/April, what would you choose
A. An extension of winter
B. An eternal autumnWith out doubt A. Mainly because we haven't had a Winter yet!

Had everything but a tornado today, let’s just skip spring and straight into an extended summer please

I've not used my heating for three days!
Nice one! Out of every negative a positive can be found

At least with these temps most will not be complaining about the cost of having their heating on for so long! Every cloud.

There aren't many other heavily populated areas of the world that could possibly record such poor sunshine stats. I certainly can't think of any.
There aren't too many densely populated areas globally that average less than 1500 hours annually. Yet we must be well below that for the last 12 months.
how many densely populated areas in the world are on a island subject to to the Atlantic and one of the biggest weather streams on the planet??.....climate change is only going to reduce the sunshine stats, more heat, more energy on the body of water we sit in, more cloud. It will happen. We are not going to end up with a Mediterranean climate weather wise, that is certain.

A "balmy" 32C for inland parts of the Island at the moment, would be a dream to be there right now.
More a nightmare!

Svalbard would be a good location for a guess of 19.5C

Starting to get that bad feeling. Doing the miles i do a week i see a lot of the country, never seen the land so saturated, ever. We need a dry spell, 3 to 4 weeks, let the ground drain. Nothing on offer though. This could become a big issue for farmers very soon, i've seen the activity already in attempts to drain fields. This is not just one location, it has effected the main arable production areas worst.

TwisterGirl81 at work or out of work? Normally pull out of work when it goes past 45 to 46c, the humidity is horrendous then, running off the walls. Otherwise 24/25c is max but wouldn't sit out in that, far to hot in direct sunshine for me.

TwisterGirl81 No offence taken at all, just wasn't sure! I totally get what you mean as well,i've lost close to 4 stone in the last year due to health issues, it does make a difference i agree, My issue is where i work, the rooms are shall we say challenging sometimes even in this weather, come summer it is a nightmare at times, 40c plus is normal with humidity. Hence my hatred for warm/hot weather, i need to cool down on leaving them!

Am I missing something? I don’t ever remember feeling warm the past 4 months, mild some days maybe but never warm unless I was indoors
Thats the difference, i've been in shorts and a t shirt this entire winter, only a fleece on now and again. There hasn't been a Winter, just had the 2nd mildest February in 300 years, wet yes but record breaking nearly temp wise. You are certainly missing something if you feel this Winter has been cold in my opinion., it hasn't.

cheeky_monkey Try doing my job in the Summer months. You would see where i'm coming from.

Can feel my mood darken already, totally unnecessary as the outlook is still fairly positive, normalish Spring weather on offer, but the worst 6 months of the year are approaching fast October can't come fast enough now. Health both physical and mental will suffer. If i could hibernate i would and avoid the next 20 plus weeks with pleasure. And let us be honest we haven't had a Winter have we? My favourite season is a non event....again.

Just out of curiosity, when are the mod people gonna stop chasing that cold spell? Do they have a cut off time or do they go on indefinitely?
I rest my case, the chase is still on, i'll be trans Pennie friday for work, snow will be a feature, its never over, just like those seeking heat, you chase that rainbow. Nothing to do with the mods is it?

Dangerous55019 I find this time of year akin to starting a long climb up a steep mountain, the summer solstice is the summit, over that its far easier journey, the worst is over and the journey to better less harsh light levels has begun. Nothing beats those long Autumnal shadows when they first appear.
