Just dashed in to say we're getting proper snow here, settling on top of last nights, not huge flakes, but big enough! Planes are still taking off but not sure for how long. Off to Speke Hall now with dogs! Hope you're all enjoying yourselves!

So if you're getting big flakes in Wavertree.... and New Brighton are getting them as well.... maybe they're coming towards the airport and me in South Liverpool....? Off out with the dogs now for a snow walk! Enjoy everyone!

Still snowing in South Liverpool but very small, light flakes possibly even sleet mixed in and not making impact at all on the snow we had overnight.... possibly even contributing to it melting....

We're still getting small flakes here HotCuppa, plenty of them but they're not making any impact on the snow already down. Do you still think the big band coming from the north will bring us the snow we're hoping for? Boss is thinking of sending staff home a bit earlier this afternoon if conditions are going to get worse! Can't see Ellesmere Port anymore from office but just saw plane taking off from airport.

Well we finally got some snow in South Liverpool! There is about an inch here but it's melting already. It looks very misty across the river - don't know if Ellesmere is getting more snowfall/rain. The main roads towards the airport have always been gritted recently but not last night so staff are having trouble getting into work.... sadly, not me.... better get some work done now! Wonder if it will snow again before I leave at 1 pm.....

It appeared to be snowing here in the streets lights (in South Liverpool near the airport) but on going outside I found it is only sleet and is just leaving the floor wet. I'm giving up now and going to bed, hoping to see some snow.... any snow.... in the morning, but not holding out much hope. Those of you who have it, enjoy! Goodnight all.

Fingers crossed then! Still dry here but cloud brighter and less heavy. Just heard it's snowing in Widnes....

Am I right in thinking our best chance of 'proper' snow in South Liverpool and Halton is Tuesday night and Wednesday? I wasn't expecting us to get anything significant tonight.

I thought it was rather apt knowing how we all feel about the word marginal to spell it Margi Anal...

We have had a few odd flakes of snow out of the big black cloud that came over in the last hour but it seems to be breaking up now - I guess that's our snow in south Liverpool for today then! It has been a beautiful day though, bright sun and crisp frost!

I'm in that place 2/3 miles down the road from you and you're right about our different weather situations. We seem to be the last place to get it even if Hale or Woolton do get a glimpse of it. We always know that even if Liverpool/Halton is forecast snow, it won't necessarily snow here (by the aiport). The aiport seldom closes because it's rarely snowed in so we often help Manchester out! Today is a beautiful frosty and sunny day but I still hope the snow we're forecast Tueasday/Wednesday does materialise.

Netweather are forecasting the risk of snow for us in South Liverpool at 77% risk at 6pm and 92% at 9 pm. At the moment it is not even raining. I guess if it did manage to snow here it wouldn't stick as although the temp has dropped it doesn't yet feel cold enough. The temp at the airport is 2c....

Liverpool Airport has closed! Now that doesn't happen very often! I think it's just to clear the runway but still very unusual. Enjoy the snow those of you getting it now! Edit: I need to type more quickly!

LOL! Our dog had to be 'persuaded' to go out for her last wee and was back in, in record time!

I do hope you're right about the next wave being snowy as well. It all look beautiful here. Must have had well over an inch in an hour on top of the rock hard ice from yesterday and the day before. I'll try to attach a photo....

Sorrry to be late with this but it's finally snowing in South Liverpool We've had about an hour now of PROPER fluffy, big snowflakes!!!! No sleet, no hail, no graupel - just beautiful SNOW! I haven't read through all your posts yet b ut I hope no one is predicting a melt later!!

We've had a lovely afternoon walking in the hail left by our 'blizzard' around 2 - 3 pm. The dogs ate, rolled and peed in it (yellow graupel?!) Tonight it has gone rock hard and is crunchy underfoot and icy on the roads. It might not be snow but we have really enjoyed having it and are hoping it will be cold enough for it to stay around a bit longer. It is funny though how it's actually been warmer today and tonight than the days we didn't get anything!

Hi Chris and welcome! I'm only a winter visitor here but it's a great place to be when you're learning and the snow threads are really exciting! You will become obsessed - but don't fight it! It won't work! WOW! Snow Alert! We're having a brief blizzard here! Pleeeeese stay this time!

The weather is having a laugh now!!! After the rain washing away the teeny bit of snow here we've just had 10-15 minutes of hail then snow ( or is it graupel...) and have a light covering again! It isn't thick enough to stay but it is nice to look at! Thanks to those of you who are posting pictures - they're lovely!

Black skies and rain here..... All snow gone.... All hope gone too.....

The cloud coming over me now is running along the airport runway from west to east and is a much lighter grey than the last one. I don't know how I'm going to cope when I go home from work at 1 pm and have no view!!!!

It's raining.... No wonder our airport never shuts....
