I am shocked at the poor performance of these multi-million-pound supercomputers.Overall, I am exhausted and saddened by the event of the past few days.
I'm sure there are more important things to be shocked or saddened at. Or is this a wind up?!

Followed by another awful summer with grey laden skies with 21-22c maxes. Lovely, not!
Maybe..i'm sure the guys that post their daily charts (winter) will be saying something different.

Lots of mild weather on the horizon down this end. Lovely stuff

Hands up who would just be happy with a mild winter? It seems most (not everyone) is favourable for a cold winter. Don't get me wrong i like a cold day here and there if the sun is out and the winds are light but overall when i see the temperatures up at between 9-11c (next week) it makes me happier than seeing them struggle to 5-6c.

If you see any cold in fi ,then it's in fi and too far away to take notice of.
If they see the Atlantic rev up in mid Dec on the models it's a given?
Nice to see another member from Colchester

I can't keep up with it all! People posting charts every few minutes, some saying we are in for a prolonged cold spell, others saying it looks like December will be mainly mild for the best part

Bright, sunny, breezy. Pleasant in the garden washing the patio down. Cant say im looking forward to the temperatures dropping later in the week after all these double figured days we've had in November, although will probably turn mild again as we head into December.
-
Does anybody have any December stats for the years 1991 & 1992? I remember going to pick up our Christmas turkey with my dad on Christmas eve and i recall seeing the trees glistening in frost and bright sunshine.

Mild start to the day, lots of morning sunshine but this has now disappeared. Nice breeze out so good for the washing!
-
Yes now in November we have had a few chilly mornings and evenings so whacked on for half hour to take the chill off.
-
Clear, cold, crisp start here. The sun has quickly melted the morning frost and quite pleasant out as yesterdays gusty winds have dropped.
-
Rather chilly start as most have noted. Was lovely about an hour ago in the sun. Cloud has now rolled in and looks like it's here to stay. Current high of 8c.

Colder than expected last night. Shed roof covered in frost this morning and inside house temperature dropped considerably.

How common are baseboard heaters in the UK? Electric baseboard heaters - Bing images (The web address didn't go thru) The 10 Best Electric Baseboard Heaters | Improb here is what I mean:
Here in Oregon a lot of older homes have them and they suck in the winter though we have a heat pump so it's better and not anywhere near as expensive! Our heat bill is usually pretty steady in the winter not bouncing very much.
I would say not common at all, although i cant speak for everybody in the UK. Most people like myself will have a boiler/radiators for our heating source. Some have log burners. They are trying to introduce heat pumps over here but they are very expensive.

Felt colder at 9pm last night than at 6am this morning, but still pretty chilly. House is still fairly warm due to the last few mild days and daytime sunshine.
-
All change this end today. After all the heavy rain, wind and a rumble of thunder last night its bright, breezy and chilly. Looks like its turning mild again into next week.
-
According to BBC weather the overnight low tonight will be a barmy 16c
-
Cloudy start. But sun is now out and washing is drying nicely with that moderate breeze.

Not put the heating on yet and will hold off til November
Same, we have had a few chilly nights down here in Essex but the daytime sun warms the house up and there is no real cold weather expected anytime soon so may make it to November!

Fairly dull so far, few glimpses of sun but that was short lived. Moderate breeze.

Hope all the mild lovers like myself enjoyed those crazy temperatures over the Christmas period?
