  1. Already seen 4 clear bolts, about 10 flashes and a lot of thunder, gust front is passing overhead now and rain getting heavier
  2. Yeah some places was forecast great but places like the central midlands haven't had anything yet, it did say some areas may stay dry but still thought there would of been more interest than this, but like you said some initiation 'may' still get going soon. (Hope it does)
  3. Think the met wasn't underestimating today after all, unless things kick off quickly in the next hour or 2.
  4. Can see that from here in Walsall, looks extremely dark.
  5. Deep grumbling growl of thunder just heard, sounds very angry.
  6. Nice pic, lets hope we can get these into beasts too :), looking good.
  7. What a strike about an hour ago and very loud thunder travelling around the sky, moderate to heavy rain, and gusty but rain has died down now.
  8. Happy now after missing out th last few days, a close lightning strike with very loud thunder and several rumbles towards Birmingham way and moderate to heavy rain and I was just on the edge of the main monsoon stuff, also wind was gusty through it, but rain looks to be dying down a touch now
  9. Seeing them in Walsall too, do u think we'll get something soon?
  10. I reckon somethings going to kick off in the black country very soon, massive towers everywhere lol.
  11. Yes something has got to give way soon, some massive towers around, especially one looking towards wednesbury area.
  12. WOW, really thought we were going to have a decent downpour earlier, even wnt out to see the view of the clouds, but it fizzled out within half hour and ended up with a light shower and nothing since, almost laughable. Happy to see a lot of places have seen some decent thunderstorms though, even a few who hasn't had a good one in years have had theirs today.
  13. Probably not, because there was a big amount of energy in the air today so all it needed was that little bit of instability from the trough to spark things off no matter how high or low the pressure was, if there was less energy in the air, then it would make a difference so there wouldn't of been such massive downpours and storms. Hope that helps
  14. Really dark skies now to the SW, where the black country cell is
  15. The only reason we have more thunderstorms today is before there is a trough, a line of instability gradually crossing the country, other areas is due to the hills and mountains, where the air gets forced up and forms cumulonimbus clouds.
