  1. Yep running late this year, we've only got to A, but if the GFS verifies, we may be talking Barbara, C and possibly D names
  2. GFS again sending some powerful looking Atlantic storms to our shores this morning in FI, but obviously not to be taken seriously yet.
  3. Yea true, I agree with both. Hopefully we can get something noteworthy in the end, with models keep popping up the cold run every so often, and now the ECM coming on board more, after mostly failing all week.
  4. Yeah there was a bit of hail here in Walsall too, and the lightning must of been in the cloud.
  5. Had a surprising torrential downpour this afternoon, went very dark, also looks like there were a few lightning strikes to the north Midlands too.
  6. A small squall line looks to have developed in Northern Ireland but no lightning yet.
  7. Rain stopped about half hour ago but before then we had about an hour an half to 2 hours of heavy rain with some torrential bursts mix in, the local stream over flowed into the lake next to it and also very large puddles on the roads, no lightning or thunder though, but wasn't expecting anyway but the torrential rain come as a surprise, even though I was soaked through.
  8. Im not saying there is going to be one, im just wondering if you need a strong wind shear for an MCS?
  9. What a day yesterday and looks very hazy and milky skies now, usually means thunderstorms later, maybe later or tomorrow, also I thought I heard a distant boom earlier with a echoy rumbling afterwards, coming from the north/northwest :/, very strange.
  10. What's happening with those showers near the severn estuary up through the W Midlands? Don't think they have been forecast, adds to the uncertainty of this weeks potential 'thundery downpours or thunderstorms'
  11. Think theres a UFO above Walsall dropping rain as we've just had a heavy shower but nothing is showing on the radar anywhere near us.
  12. Absolutly beautiful 2nd half of summer, just the odd day of rain but not much except for saturday when a brief thunderstorm passed, looks like its going to continue in this same pattern for a while.
  13. It seems as though the models has more balance with drier/wetter, than the actual weather does at the moment, Usually the models are picking up the first autumn storms to bring balance to the weather this time of year, but there's something different, this year, Its much drier and warmer down south than cool and wet. If the ECM is right then balance will return, but lets see...
  14. Flash and thunder with torrential rain about 5 - 10 mins ago here in Walsall, looks like more to come with intensifying cells in the SW Midlands.
  15. Just hope the showers near us and in south east Wales can explode into life so we can join in too
  16. It does look like autumn, damp and misty as weirpig said, but there is still a mugginess, also have a headache which usually occurs when a storm is ahead, maybe later.
  17. Does look like some small areas of heavier convective precipitation in the mass to the SW.
  18. yeah I agree, probably just rain for anything developing around the Plymouth area. Will be very very surprised if any lightning appears though, never know with these crazy set ups. EDIT - looks to be dying off again for the time being.
  19. Thought so, thats behind the cold front too isn't it, so more western parts could be in for a chance?
