  1. Dizzy heights of 2.1 today though shady areas stayed below zero. Lovely walk to work on frozen mud. Not sure I want it much colder than last night (-8.2C) especially as my bedroom heater is broken. Absolutely gorgeous day though. Give me this over 12C wind and rain
  2. Absolutely beautiful day here, though the temps still below freezing in sheltered spots. We'll see what tonight brings and I might even remember to take my phone with me so I can grab some photos on the way to work. Anyone else got a crisp cold day?
  3. Sorry to pile on the misery....but that was my back garden sensor. The official metO stats have it down to -8.2 last night. Definitely this years winner.
  4. I see your frosts and I raise you -6.1C. Still not coldest night of winter though. Had a very early hard frost late Nov/early Dec when temps got down to -6.5C. Looks like a cold, clear day ahead so thermals at the ready
  5. ..and the heater in my bedroom isn't working. I shall be sleeping in a jumper
  6. Good old Benson never fails to deliver the cold.Dustbin lid covered with layer of ice already. -2.1C
  7. Put it in a sandwich bag with some rice and pop it in the airing cupboard. Weather? Wintry drizzle T1.8C,humidity 91% pressure 1008 and steady.
  8. Looks like a band of wet stuff heding this way. Looks like it's turning more wintry as it heads east. Fingers crossed for snow for us!
  9. Sorry folks, I need to amend my weather report. From my bed it did look like murky(but colder) groundhog day, but having looked round the corner at the garden the rain has turned to snow at some point last night There isn't enough to make a kitten a vest but I'll take you
  10. sun rising on a damp murky day. Again. At least it was warm 2 weeks ago ( cold whingepart1)
  11. Ooh...that's pepped up a bit. Wonder if it'll limp this far south of the county?
  12. Yes...and as per it's stalled on the Cotswolds and looks like it's breaking down . Temperature rising slightly here which I wasn't expecting
  13. Met Office have issued a yellow warning for snow in Oxfordshire (but if it could wait til I get home that would be better as 1 flake of snow will probably see Network Rail suspend all services)
  14. Think I know where your cold went. The frosty hollows of SC England!!Overnight temperatures got down to -4.7C here. Beautiful(if lethal) crisp frost. Unfortunately it was still dark when I went out so I didn't get pictures. Temperature just about 1C now.
  15. Notorious frost spot indeed. Our record was -16.5 in 2010. Almost a month of sub zero or close to temps
  16. I'm just down the road from you and we dipped below freezing about 6pm, but warmed up an hour later. We do seem to be the land weather forgets. Except frost.
  17. I'm glad I'm not the only one who treats their pupils to snow watching!!
  18. -1.8 c here. Looks clear(not been outside, but sun seems to be coming up). Hopefully a clear crisp day which will suit me fine after weeks of murk and damp.
