  1. Far windier here than forecast/expected. 37/54 mph which is 10 more than MetO forecast. I'm as far inland as you can get so I dread to think what exposed coasts are getting

  3. I've friends travelling down from Leeds tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if the station is currently accessible? They're travelling from Harrogate. Thanks
  4. South London looks like a its going to have a couple of average autumn days Tues/Weds. Windy, yes, but nothing we've not seen already this month
  5. I'm a Toddy girl, but have long since moved away. This is heartbreaking stuff http://www.itv.com/news/2015-12-26/residents-evacuated-as-floods-pose-danger-to-life/

  7. It's been downscaled quite a bit as said. Doesn't look any worse than anything we've had so far this year. Nothing turning up the TV/ music won't disguise the noise.
  8. My heart goes out to those in the areas affected by flooding. We were affected by the persistent rain two years ago and it really is no joke when human waste, etc starts coming into your home. Is there any hint of a let up soon for these areas?
  9. Where abouts are you Amanda? The rain and wind have cleared here now and it wasn't too bad. Gusts just about touching 40 mph in the squall line
  10. A lovely, fine but breezy spring morning here. Washing out on the line. If I didn't know it was Xmas this week I'd be convinced it was March!
  11. Desmond seems to have woken up again after a brief rest. A couple of pretty large gusts and a constant howl again ( apologies to northern friends for calling them large gusts..probably high 40s/low 50s just a bit unexpected )
  12. Hope you're safe and don't need to go out for anything for the rest of the weekend :/
  13. Yes, I agree. There are several yellow warning inplace for rain, but it's difficult to see which one is which
  14. Warning now at red. Stay safe people and don't venture out if you don't need to. Down here, dry. overcast, blowy (though a bit of a lull at the moment). Mean wind speed 24mph, gusts in low 40s
  15. Weather warnings for wind lifted here in C/S England for Saturday. Looks like another crappy, windy drizzly day. I'll take that over floods any day though. Having endured the flooded sewers scenario a couple of years ago am quite happy with the boring weather, Some nice cold winter sunshine would be nice though!
  16. We got down to -5.5 last night. Poor chickens had a slush puppy in their water trough!
  17. Hello! I'm a newbie. Enthusiastic weather fan rather than having any techie knowledge! Last night Barney brought us sustained 32mph + for roughly 2 hours, gusts of 56/57 mph tops. Couple of power outages. Unusual for the low lying Thames Valley, though we have had worse. Valentines day 2014 is the last big storm to hit this area.
