For anyone interested this is the observed profile from close to that photogenic tornado in France today
Thank you

Rain inbound. Electrical activity behind. I'd imagine this amount of saturation will kill it

Cells popping up in CS region

I'm not convinced of much lightning on that first trough tomorrow. It's the showers that develop later tomorrow that look to have a better chance.
I suspect that first trough will have lightning when it develops out of France, and then the activity will die down as it hits the south coast.
I agree with you. The second wave is where it's at. Watch this space

Should we start to put a tornado watch in some of the areas because of the formation of a mesocyclone?
Pretty sure Torro have done one?

Yeah I absolutely nailed it too. Literally my best forecast ever. Saved hundreds of lives, probably.
The Ilford tornado I’m predicting for 9pm might be threat to life as well - best for anyone in the area to find a 24 hour shoe shop to shelter in. Failing that just stay in and don’t wander about for no reason.
Well, I'm glad you predicted the Wokingham supercell and glad I heeded your warning. I was able to bring the dog indoors so that she wasn't spooked by the 3 rumbles of thunder

Yet seemingly all the clag didn't have an impact on the storms over the far N of England or Peterborough.
The Peterborough storm had its origins across the river from me, then gained momentum as it moved North. It seemed to develop from nothing as we were under le clag Francais. Just goes to show strong insolation isn't always necessary

Sun is out here and quite uncomfortable

Small storm passed to my east. First decent rainfall in ages! Lovely!

I did consider chasing up to Oxford, but to be honest it’s just a bit of thunder and lightning and possible tornado. Big deal
The smaller cell, south of the Aylesbury one, wasn't all that. About 3 rumbles and no visible lightning. Too much clag to see any structure either

Not being funny but I was pretty spot-on with the Wokingham Supercell prediction.
Okay 25 -50 miles off, and it’s yet to fully develop - but other than that please pass me the “forecaster of the year’ award
I will pay rapt attention to your forecasts from now. I can hear thunder from that cell

Starting to think the central south should just be left off forecasts in future until science figures out why thunderstorms simply cannot form in this area of the planet. must be our unique geography or something.
The chilterns are usually good for a storm. I can hear thunder from that Chilterns cell here

2 loud rumbles of thunder in South Oxfordshire. Don't know where it came from- we've had nothing but clag this morning

Cell came out of nowhere in West Oxfordshire

My thoughts too

It’s the seeds of the Wokingham Supercell I tells ya
I'll take a Wokingham supercell of it has a NW flow or decent daughter cells

Two peals of thunder out of nowhere , going v dark and rain though the sun wants to shine , all very odd . Edit, several deep growls and lightning .
19.6 95% humidity .
I hope those who want a storm get a storm get one .
How is everyone today ? Any plans?
A big thank you as well, to this lovely forum especially Beka when I was ill, the result is that I was fast tracked and have my operation on Thursday. Will be in hospital overnight and two weeks to recover .

Well and truly smashed 30c barrier here. 32.8c gives us the hottest day of the year. Luckily, tho our garden is SW facing, we're surrounded by mature trees keeping the patio in shade for most of the day.

Under that conveyor belt (but outside the met warning) for the last 5 hours with no sign of a let up. Rain varying from heavy/ near torrential. No idea of totals, but my road which is a main access is like a river and will possibly be impassable in the next couple of hours if there's no let up.
