For those is London and the South East going into meltdown over today's weather. It's just a nice drop of much needed summer rain.
Yet another days work down the pan. I need this weather like a bullet hole in the head. Here in the S W, we've had plenty these last 3 weeks. You're welcome to it.

Supposed to be playing a gig outdoors tomorrow.
Got a feeling it's going to be cancelled, Bass Guitar, Amp, electricity and rain, not a good combination.

It's the same here: we've already had one monsoonal downpour!
Just had a look at the radar Pete, it appears to be clearing up a bit. It's driving me mad at the moment, constantly having to cover up work. I kind of expect it Autumn, Winter, and to some extent Spring, but at this time of year it just feels like a p,, ss take. Hope you're keeping ok.

According to our local forecast, today was supposed to be a better day,!! I reckon she must have been hallucinating or something. It's no joke trying to make a living in this crap that's for sure .

There was never any danger of "severe drought" here. Even after this June our reservoirs ( in this area) were 90% full, plus 50% of our water comes down from the Brecon Beacons.
When you think of it Si, we have quite a few within a 30 odd mile radius.
Cheddar, Blagdon, and Barrow Tanks, As well as Chew Valley Lake.

The thing i find is we have a younger (PlayStation generation) that have the strength/get up n go of an asthmatic ant, i sit at my desk, shake my head, then have to show em how its done and i am buggered for 2 days
I know what you mean, I'm currently building a 450 mm wide stone wall, about 15 metres long. By the time it's finished I'll have shifted 14 ton of stone, and mixed up about 2 ton of mortar. I end up walking back into the house like John Wayne most evenings. When our generation finally finishes , the s;;;it will really hit the fan as there is'nt anyone coming along to replace us. They talk about a skills shortage now, they aint seen nothing yet.

I used to be a labourer on building sites, hot weather was fantastic to work in. I also worked on digging the roads up for gas and water, where we go paid by the metre. I also did landscaping for 15 years, building fences, turfing, paving etc. Sunny, hot weather was amazing! You could fit two winter working days in to one and so it was very cost effective.
Cold weather doesn't bother me in the slightest, but working outside in 25 - 30°C was where it was at!
Wish I could do it all again to be honest, best days of my life.
I'm still working in the Building Trade, to be honest, I've found the last 4 days hard going. I never used to worry too much about the heat, or the cold, but now I've turned 63 I tend to struggle a bit. Thought about doing somethng else, but realistically, I don't thing anyone is going to rush to employ a knackered out old buzzard like me,

Find this time of year tiring to be honest, the dog invariably wants to go out by about 0530 ,sometimes earlier. Because it's so light I can't get back to sleep, and so I end up completly bloody knackered . At least in the Autumn and Winter the little so and so sleeps through to about 0700.

And, anyway, here's this week's Deep Dive:
Very interesting video, not the most flattering of screenshots though. The poor bloke looks like he's just had a particularly embarrassing accident in his trousers.

Going down to Devon for a couple of days at the weekend. Sat looks good, Sunday might be a bit showery by the looks of it.

No complaints from me at all, pleasantly warm, plenty of sunshine, and able to sit out in the garden.

Any change to our miserable godforsaken climate could only be an improvement.

Booked to go down to Devon for a few days end of July /beginning of August.
Seriously starting to think about cancelling, I don't fancy blowing the best part of £500 just to sit and look at a crapfest outside I can do that at home for nothing.
