  1. It's weird here. Mostly blue sky but the one cloud over us is spitting out tiny bits of wet snow. Although now more like sleet.
  2. Not here it isn't. November is on average a bit cooler than March. Especially the max temps.
  3. Mild at 1C above average, although colder than January by 0.5C. Higher daily maximum average than January but lower minimums. Drier than average at 82.3% of rainfall and by far the driest month of winter. Most frosts of winter but an average amount. Max temp: 14C (21st) Average max: 8.4C Min temp: -4.7C (16th) Average min: 1.5C Average temp: 4.9C Days of air frost: 11 Total rain: 30.2mm Days of above 1mm: 5 Days of above 5mm: 3 Days above 10mm: 0 Rainiest day: 9.9mm (17th) Snow: 0cm
  4. I liked it. I stood in my garden in December in a T-shirt which was a weird but cool novelty, I only had slightly above average rain in Dec/Jan, and Feb has been sunny, dry, calm and with the increasing sun strength very pleasant! I had hardly any snow, half a day of it on the ground and only about 2-3cm. I would have liked some more but snow is like above 30C temps. It sounds fun until you live in it a while and the novelty wears off.
  5. Because people want a snow event, as in snow being on the ground for a few days at least. Simply seeing some snow fall and not settling is hardly an event.
  6. Well yesterday's highs were higher than forecast.
  7. Wow I can't remember that. Impressive! Saying that I can't remember that October heatwave a few years ago either. My mind is a sieve.
  8. Today was beautiful. Had a great walk, lots of snowdrops, singing birds, and could feel the sun! Light winds too.
  9. What's the precipitation been like this month? I've only had 28mm.
  10. How can everything be "meh" when all kinds of records are being set each year/month even day. A month doesn't seem to go by without at least one record being set.
  11. Snow has been just 5 days away since the first week of Jan!
  12. Problem is the average temp gets gradually higher so "colder" can still mean far too mild for anything wintry.
  13. Is it actually going to be cold though? My birthday is in the first week of March and it always seems to be about 8C.
  14. One day we'll all be able to say to our grandchildren; I survived the snow event of 18/02/2016.
  15. 3.8C, DP 3.6C, raining. Even if it snows it's way too soggy out there to settle.
  16. Yeah but it's always winter in Scotland. We're talking seasonal weather.
  17. That seasonal outlook is really not useful. Summary: Early spring can have cold spells and spring gets warmer as it goes on.
  18. But 13/14 was wet and mild....and sunny!
  19. The BBC are reactionary school kids compared to the MetO.
  20. The guy writes like he works for the Express and doesn't even make many predictions, no where near enough to verify and disappears for months on end. Why would you want him as the top class forecaster of the forum? Do you have no respect for the profession?
  21. For me strong sun is when you start to feel it on your skin. There's a period of the year when you can hardly feel it through glass, let alone when outside. We're past that now though! I know as the cat has been finding the sunshine patches on the floor again!
