  2. This was a 'was it or wasn't it ?' moment. However having looked at the video again, I am confident that this was Stu's first tornado. Even his wife thought it was too. Floydada, Texas. Tom

  16. OK well tonight is the last night on this tour and as with the first tour I have had a brilliant time. I have totally enjoyed meeting all the people that have been on the tours. They are what makes the tour a sucess. I would also like to say that you to the other staff members on the first tour. we make a good team. I will not name everyone because you all know who you are. THANK YOU. I will say one huge thank you to Paul Sherman because of his experience and willingness to find the best storm, is second to none. There are times during a chase that we do trust him with our lives. I will also have to thank Paul for his patience and one day I will/may learn when not to wind him up. On a finaly note Paul bought me my first corn dog of this trip and it was bloody lovely. Nearly as good as black pudding. Cheers one and all Tom
  17. Have been around the area where there was F5 damage and peoples homes are just a heap of rubble. We not have actually gone there if it were not for a plea made by one of the farmers. She asked us to go see what she considers to be the forgotten victims of this tragedy. Their fields are full of evey kind of debris you cam imagine. They have to harvest their crops but the debris in the fields means that they suffer considerable damage to the vehicles. They are out in teams scouring the fields putting it all into heaps. They need help from whoever they can it from. She close to tears when she told us about her grandad out picking bits of metal up from the fields. We drove for miles and miles through wrecked homes and peoples lives. She asked us to spread the word that she has put together a group of people called 'Field of Teams' they need as many people as they can to help clear their fields. She said that if it gets into the combine harvester it could cost them $40000. Hard to deal with. She wanted to let us know that nearly as many died in the El Reno tornado as did in the Moore tornado. Also interesting to see how close we actually were to the tornado on that day. Tom
  18. We are currently sat at the location where Team Twisex ended their chase days . A quiet pilgrimage and a few silent thoughts by all in our vehicle. Sad Tom
  19. heading into El Reno as I type stream should be on Tom
  20. well there is nothing to chase within reach of a team that needs to be back in Dallas/Forth Worth for tomorrow. So we are nipping by Okarche to see and old friend and brilliant chaser, Dave Ewoldt. Tonight we will be back in the DFW area getting prepared for the flight home and reflecting on an interesting and enjoyable two tours. I have seen so many supercells I have lost count, but I am sure that one anorak in this van will be able to provide that figure. I have seen the largest tornado on record. That unfortunately took the lives of Team Twistex, that last time we bumped into them was late at night in a Braumes in Oklahoma City after a chase, we all had the same idea, a cheesburger. Sad to think that would be that last time our paths were to cross. Sad to think that we shared their last storm with them. Tom
  21. Paul is counting ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs and so I will post some shots and video from today. Paul can fill in the detail As far as today goes for a cold front day it panned out better than anticipated, Although we were thwarted every inch of the way by new cells popping up between us and our inteded prey. We could otiginally see between the various cells , that is when we got the funnel cloud. There was another funnel cloud later but we were repositioning ourselves and could film it. We could see and watched a large wall cloud but new cells kept hiding it from us. These cells were all moving very slowly until of course we wanted to get south of them. We tried to cut behind one severe warned storm and get south of the tornado warned cell before it crossed the road that we were on but it suddenly went from 20 mph to 50 mph, So we had to settle for a photographers dream instead, Some photos taken by me with my video camera. I know others with proper jobbies will have better photos. I am happy with mine thank you. Tom
  22. Paul not too happy with what he is looking at and feels that those cells near Dodge are looking to have more potential so heading that way for now at least
  23. We are sitting east of the dry line - yes the low was there and we were looking at the triple point in the Oklahoma Panhandle area - We are currently near Ashland Kansas. Tom
