  1. Heading towards Greensburg, Kansas. Live stream is on and hopefully todays chase areas will allow stream to stay on. Yesterday the internet connections were sparse. I tried but not much you can do about it when you are in the middle of nowhere. Tom
  2. This is part 1 of the Friona Hailstorm without a hitch in it Tom
  3. We crossed the border between Texas and New Mexico during this chase so many times. We called this storm the '4 state Storm' initiated in Colorado chased in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. She was a slow moving un-nasty storm. Tom
  4. The interesting thing that I noticed was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz cows seem to notice when the storm is approaching , cos they start bellowing. Tom
  5. We stopped whilst follow these storms Tom
  6. On the way today we stopped at a diner which was run by Amish people and what a lovely bunch of people. Texline was the town and Grannys Kitchen was the place. Tom
  7. Early in the chase we went and sat at the top of Caprock which is about 4950 ft above sea level and the base of the cell was 5000ft so we found ourself in the meso. We had to make a hasty escape.
  8. and I worked so kep to light and focus and scenery and storm shots working but couldnt tell if it was streaming back home. Not to worry we do have photos (lots of them) and video from today. Paul is working on the photos and I will do the videos. Tom
  9. Stopped to watch cell to the south west of Springfield CO OKLAHOMA to right of the track New Mexico to the left of the track and Texas in our rear mirror
  10. Heading north toward a storm cell north west of Boise City

  12. OK live stream should be on and I will leave it on unless internet loses coverage. Tom
  13. We got from yesterday what we expected and had planned on staying where we stayed and we ate Thai. Went went a little west and watched for a while but I think after Friona , some were grateful to chill out a little. I did have one eye on something drifting down into Dumas but I am ever the optimist. Down days are ok from time to time but Chicken George and I are out to chase storms. By the way George gets jumpy went I mention 'down' Tom
  14. Although storm over us was dark you could see light ahead of the storm in the distance Tom
  15. Now booking into a hotel in Dumas decided that nothing is going to happen, this side of midnight at least. If it does come our way it will be a bonus. Tom
  16. we are moving to the north west into the NE corner of New Mexico. With an intention of spending the night in Dumas , Texas. Tom
  17. Yes its the Cadillac Ranch west of Amarillo
  18. Oh and from Chicken George. Get well soon Quentin. The chase team
  19. Currently sat west of Amarillo watching the live funeral service for Tim, it is in Denver.
  20. OK we is heading for an I Hop breakfast and then may be to the Cadillac Ranch before we head off Tom
  21. Some of the gustnadoes had a fair old amount of rotation on them Sorry about quality but trying to keep ahead of the storm Tom
  22. In Friona with still an hour before sunset day quickly turned to night Tom
  23. When I said golf balls I meant golf balls My brother in law Roger will confirm this size. That is Pete Scott in the video, he got told off by the truck driver whilst collecting the hails stones. Tom
  24. Our storm for the day was north of Logan , New Mexico. and we stayed south of it filming and taking pictures. At one point we sat on top of a viewpoint waiting for it to arrive. Interesting sitting at 4,995ft with a cell that had a cloud base of 5000ft. We then kept in front of this green dusty monster watching gustnadoes finally taking a risk of getting slammed by it and going east and then north into to get toget into a car wash in Friona before the storm hit. Which it did. Day turned to night, roads to rivers, golf ball size, hurricane strength winds and our car wash turned into a hail shelter. Although Martin still got about 15 hail dents on his car, that was under cover but hail came sideways on at about 100 mph. Tom
