  1. well there is nothing to chase within reach of a team that needs to be back in Dallas/Forth Worth for tomorrow. So we are nipping by Okarche to see and old friend and brilliant chaser, Dave Ewoldt. Tonight we will be back in the DFW area getting prepared for the flight home and reflecting on an interesting and enjoyable two tours. I have seen so many supercells I have lost count, but I am sure that one anorak in this van will be able to provide that figure. I have seen the largest tornado on record. That unfortunately took the lives of Team Twistex, that last time we bumped into them was late at night in a Braumes in Oklahoma City after a chase, we all had the same idea, a cheesburger. Sad to think that would be that last time our paths were to cross. Sad to think that we shared their last storm with them. Tom
  2. Paul is counting ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs and so I will post some shots and video from today. Paul can fill in the detail As far as today goes for a cold front day it panned out better than anticipated, Although we were thwarted every inch of the way by new cells popping up between us and our inteded prey. We could otiginally see between the various cells , that is when we got the funnel cloud. There was another funnel cloud later but we were repositioning ourselves and could film it. We could see and watched a large wall cloud but new cells kept hiding it from us. These cells were all moving very slowly until of course we wanted to get south of them. We tried to cut behind one severe warned storm and get south of the tornado warned cell before it crossed the road that we were on but it suddenly went from 20 mph to 50 mph, So we had to settle for a photographers dream instead, Some photos taken by me with my video camera. I know others with proper jobbies will have better photos. I am happy with mine thank you. Tom
  3. Paul not too happy with what he is looking at and feels that those cells near Dodge are looking to have more potential so heading that way for now at least
  4. We are sitting east of the dry line - yes the low was there and we were looking at the triple point in the Oklahoma Panhandle area - We are currently near Ashland Kansas. Tom
  5. Heading towards Greensburg, Kansas. Live stream is on and hopefully todays chase areas will allow stream to stay on. Yesterday the internet connections were sparse. I tried but not much you can do about it when you are in the middle of nowhere. Tom
  6. This is part 1 of the Friona Hailstorm without a hitch in it Tom
  7. We crossed the border between Texas and New Mexico during this chase so many times. We called this storm the '4 state Storm' initiated in Colorado chased in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. She was a slow moving un-nasty storm. Tom
  8. The interesting thing that I noticed was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz cows seem to notice when the storm is approaching , cos they start bellowing. Tom
  9. We stopped whilst follow these storms Tom
  10. On the way today we stopped at a diner which was run by Amish people and what a lovely bunch of people. Texline was the town and Grannys Kitchen was the place. Tom
  11. Early in the chase we went and sat at the top of Caprock which is about 4950 ft above sea level and the base of the cell was 5000ft so we found ourself in the meso. We had to make a hasty escape.
  12. and I worked so kep to light and focus and scenery and storm shots working but couldnt tell if it was streaming back home. Not to worry we do have photos (lots of them) and video from today. Paul is working on the photos and I will do the videos. Tom
  13. Stopped to watch cell to the south west of Springfield CO OKLAHOMA to right of the track New Mexico to the left of the track and Texas in our rear mirror
  14. Heading north toward a storm cell north west of Boise City
  15. well this is a first the place looked busy and so Paul suggested that we eat here and it is an Amish run dinner a first for team I of course am now going to eat my Thai food from last night Tom we are a town called Texline
  16. OK live stream should be on and I will leave it on unless internet loses coverage. Tom
  17. We got from yesterday what we expected and had planned on staying where we stayed and we ate Thai. Went went a little west and watched for a while but I think after Friona , some were grateful to chill out a little. I did have one eye on something drifting down into Dumas but I am ever the optimist. Down days are ok from time to time but Chicken George and I are out to chase storms. By the way George gets jumpy went I mention 'down' Tom
  18. Although storm over us was dark you could see light ahead of the storm in the distance Tom
  19. Now booking into a hotel in Dumas decided that nothing is going to happen, this side of midnight at least. If it does come our way it will be a bonus. Tom
  20. we are moving to the north west into the NE corner of New Mexico. With an intention of spending the night in Dumas , Texas. Tom
