  1. Hey Pat dont blame me. Its in your blood me ole cocker sparrow. Yes to the coffee though. Whilst you lot were whooping and hollering about your lightning shots this guy in a pick-up came over because he thought it was someone in difficulty. He had a lovely dog with him. tom
  2. Hi Pat Are we counting down already ? I have to say there were some fine splendid shots taken that day. Johns were pretty cool. Interesting that the locals came to see what all the shouting was about. Tom
  3. Hi Arron Wasn't going to say too much about AA in case I ever need to go with them again but the last time I flew with them the pilot was out kicking the tyres on the plane to check the pressure. I said "how long does it take to get to Oklahoma City?" He said " don't know , never made it yet."
  4. Hi there My flights cost me £403, If I had booked a week earlier with Opodo I could have got it for £393 and I think American Airlines were around that price too. However I enjoyed the BA flight the staff were nice and they didn't charge for the drinks, the small bottles of wine at £3.50 each could add more to the cost of the flight. I am told that there could be another sale between Christmas and New Year but i am too impatient to wait until then. Tom Why hello Paul You have been quiet. Have you been back in the Priory. Tom
  5. Well I have gone and done it. I have my flights booked for next chase season and I am flying the flag, BA. I couldn't resist, BA have a sale on. and I am a sucker for the "Only 3 seats left at this price" trick. I just have to find a way to let my wife know that I have spent some of her hard earned money on my flights. I have to say that BA treated us well this year so have no problem flying with them. I need to find my online visa ref and sort out my insurance. Evening supercell in Texas After the storm, Childress Texas Tom
  6. What a place to have a holiday home. I have decided that if I win the lottery I will buy a place out in Kansas. One with a front porch and a swing on it so I can sit in the evenings playing my guitar drinking a cool bud just watching the lightning. This place can be my base camp for the whole of the chase season. All my friends can come and stay, on the down days we could BBQ, heck I would be popular. Oh well back to reality. Tom I like them too but I only posted them for a friend. I saw a brief funnel whilst sat watching a storm near Tebay services, Cumbria I got brief snatch of it on video but that was through a gap in the clouds. Nothing to write home about. Tom
  7. Yes I mentioned to her that it wasn't a tornado but it was a funnel cloud and as I said I would have been happy to snap them myself. Had I have seen it,I would have been rushing for my camera, but then anything weatherwise pleases me. She asked it they were worth post on a site I said that thought they certainly were. Tom
  8. Hi all I would be interested in what you all think about these shots and the possible cause. It wasn't a really hot day and it doesn't look like there was a storm of any sorts. So what do you think?
  9. Pretty much the same here in Kendal. Rain was torrential with flooding along the river Kent fire service were out pumping water from the cellars. I had to get out my step ladders to clean my gutters I looked out and notice they were blocked. It was coming over the top. The family next door must have thought I was barmy up on metal steps in a thunderstorm. Had to be done. Tom
  10. Hecky thump old chap I couldn't agree more, it is all part of the bigger picture, called storm chasing. Tom
  11. Ok well I booked with that insurance company and they must be alright because I arrived home safe and sound. However you will need your passport especially when you book your on line visa. As for BA well most of their staff still remember JR Ewing and I am certain you will not know what I am talking about. Tom
  12. Hi Trevor Nice to have you on board. You will not be flying alone, the plane will be full of people. Only kidding ! If you let me know when you are flying out I am sure that someone else will be going out on the same flight. British Airways have a sale on at the moment, so do American Airlines. I must say that the Great Plains is a good lab to study meteorology. I will look forward to meeting up with you. Don't forget your on line Visa and your travel insurance. Tom Lynch
  13. I agree with you on that one Pat. Tom
  14. Hi Pat , with regard to one of your questions this is an LP storm taken near Woodward Oklahoma 3.5 hours before Greensburg got hit.
  15. Thanks Pat No I didn't get too much to drink , sober ole me Tom
  16. Yes Pat it brings back fond memories of that day. Thanks for that. It does look like getting out of town was the best option. Tom
  17. Hi all These two photos and more were taken by a friend of mine holidaying on the west coast of Cumbria. Whitehaven I think, and she spotted what she thought was a tornado. The photos are good photos , they are interesting and show what sea thermals can do. I would have been happy to shoot them myself. Tom
  18. Pat I do like the evidence collected, when Paul openly admits to going through a turnpike without paying - You have it on video. Blackmail ?? Tom
  19. Sad to hear about Danny I know he was looking forward to the trip. Tom
  20. Hi Pat How much did you learn whilst out on the highways? Which famous singer was born in Lubbock, Texas Ask Paul I am sure he knows. Tom
  21. Hi Ross The dvd arrived safely today. Have not had time to watch it yet, been painting. Tom
  22. No problem Andy If there is any information you need or are not sure about, just ask. I do have the address of the motel in Dallas and I am sure that it will be the one that you will be staying at on the first night. The first night is all you need to put on the online visa. Tom
