  1. Sorry about size of photos will try again. Below is where we were in relation to the cell which hit Paducah [
  2. We sat around and waited until we saw the cells developing to our south west. We then set off for an intercept.
  3. This was one great day, one to remember. More photos to be added , eventually. Below is the Barons view whilst we were in Paducah.
  4. Well I have to take my hat off to Paul yesterday (or my cap) we were positioned within a short distance of the first cell and really the only good cell in Oklahoma. The rest was down to patience we sat for hours and hours but it paid off. That is storm chasing. The other main asset yesterday was years of experience from watching storms develop. Pat was watching early development within that cell. Paul was also keen to go for it but Baron said "I can't see anything" We were watching that cell 10 mins before Baron showed anything. Once the cell went up it was explosive and pretty as a picture, which I will post later when I can see what I am doing. It is dark it the room and John is asleep I dont want to disturb him, he worked hard yesterday poor chap. Tom
  5. Thanks Paul. I was there and I enjoyed watching it. Tom
  6. Hi There can you let everyone know that we are live streaming ATM 6.40am Monday27 April Tom
  7. Not the first time and it wont be the last. Dirt roads are there to fustrate. However sometimes they are the only way of following the action. The only upsetting thing about the day in our dvd was seeing a German chase team fly past and seeing the Outlaw chaser pass by. Tom
  8. Jet stream http://squall.sfsu.edu/scripts/namjetstream_model_fcst.html Tom
  9. How lucky is that? A good chance of seeing a tornado on your first chase, but at very least some exciting chases are on the cards. Tom
  10. Paul my train arrives in Euston at 12.12 which i think is a little early for Ian so I might come straight to your place. I need to catch Ian. Tom
  11. I like what I see http://nomad3.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/pdisp_...00&op2=none Tom
  12. On my first night last year I was treat to two flashes of lightning and 5 + days of glorious sunshine. I did report the odd cloud or two , when I saw one. So to see the possibilities of some chases from day one excites me. ATM it doesnt look like we will have to travel too far either. The proof of the pudding will be in the heating Tom
  13. Wel i guess they are all doing family things. Progs still looking good NCAR show things happenig through SATURDAY but been chasing long enough to know better. Still I think we are all in for a treat. Tom
  14. I have to things are looking good NCAR are giving promising forecasts too I must repeat the best set up I have arrived into. I think tour 1 are going to have a treat. Tom
  15. Hi Nick Yes you are correct about those long hot days spent in the Oklahoma sun sipping at a cool beer, but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Now the news that we are going to be able to chase is exciting to say the least. As you say it could change and there is always that possibility. Just need a bit of luck. Tom
  16. Hi there The hotel is Best Western Irving Inn, 4110 West Airport Freeway, Irving , Texas TX 75062 and yes the progs are currently better than I have had for my last few trips out there. Last year I hit a bad patch spend 5 days using suncream and so the possibilty of getting some action straight away is nice. Tom
  17. I have to say from where I am sat ATM it looks like we are in for a busy period  I like that idea. Better still to have some storms to greet us on our first night. I have my bags 99% packed and just need to get my luggage tags written up. Don't forget to write the name of the hotel on the tags so if they go walk abouts they will catch up with you. I have all my various batteries charged and my storm alert radios packed and ready to roll.
  18. I do agree about Kansas, but still holding out for a chance on Monday I have looked at one or two other sites which have given a little bit of hope and as stated it is only Wednesday. So who's round is it. Tom
  19. Paul I have packed both storm alert radios. I have also packed a variety of repair kits which I have found useful over the years. I also have Storm Lab Pro and Weathertap , just to add to GRLEVEL 3 and Baron. oh and my GPS and my lightning detector. Tom
  20. Thanks Paul All is looking promising for a little action within a day of touching down. Sounds good to me. I am getting all my batteries charged and ready to go. I have been ticking off all my gear on a ticksheet as I pack them into my case. I am trying to travel as light as possible. Tom
  21. Keep up the good work chaps and we will just have keep an eye on the situation. It seemed originally like a trip north was on the cards. I'm good to go, where ever. Tom
  22. For the record I have just completed producing a dvd from Paul's material from 2008. It is in the post to Paul as we speak and will be shown on our down days (Xmas) I enjoyed putting it together, need a bleep machine though. Tom
  23. More than looking forward to it Paul. Each trip out to the plains is better than the last one. I also think that we start a top ten of places to eat whilst out on the plains. Just to get peoples mouths watering. Although whilst on the chase one will have to happy with what one can get. I remeber grabbing a chicken roll in a gas station in Wyoming and it was frozen in the middle. I was busy with the chase and left it on the seat where my wife was sitting, that cured it. Another year in Kearney Nebraska ( a place I am sure you will remember) Steve and Pete went to buy a Subway and as a joke they put every thing in the shop that was hot (except for the waitress) on it i.e chilli peppers, mustard, but I love hot food the hotter the better , it was fantastic. Boy i am so ready to roll. Tom
