  1. Julie, he is in safe hands. As for the "Boiler Maker" well it is only Guiness with a glass of whiskey in it. Fairly tame really. Tom
  2. Monday 19th May Lightning spotted "praise the lord" We have visited Dave Ewoldt's local bar. Eischens's Bar. A good day was had by all. It was 97F outside so we had to keep cool. Ian attempted to assist the bar by taking on the local chickens I have to report that Ian shared his room with a cowboy from Texas. We can't go much more into that. If you want to know more ask his mother, she may be the first to want to know.
  3. Interurban Oklahoma City Ian, Paul , Nick , Paul, Dave & Tom dined out. We met up with Jim & Lyn from Eischen's Bar, Okarchen, Oklahoma. Ian took on the challenge of downing a "Boiler Maker" in one Guiness with a glass of whiskey placed into to. Under way The crew Finally I'm outta here
  4. Well there was a lot of wind about :o I am not sure if a tornado appeared how many guests would use the shelter. It would have interesting to see how many they could get into it in a rush. Could have set a world record for the number of people in a fraidy hole. A practice drill would have been required. Tom
  5. Ditto to that Steve. A good day was had by all. To top it up Rockie even organised a fly-by. A little thundershower passed by. It helped to cool things down too. We spent a pleasant afternoon/evening in good company. We watched the sunset whilst the Night Hawks swooped for food. Rockie's new "fraidy Hole" Tornado Warning? (Northern Monkey takes cover) Pete & Claire Spot the chaser Wrong!! Dave is on the left ITV camera man on right
  6. URGENT WARNING A small cloud has just been spotted drifting over Okarche , Oklahoma. This report comes from a trained weather spotter. Tom
  7. Phew that was a close call, we have just had gust of wind which reached 6 mph. I was in danger of losing my boxers. The aveage wind speed currently is 1.4 Dave though we should put out a warning. Tom
  8. All is not lost Rusty I am out here until 30th and will for the net week be chasing with Dave Ewoldt and things are going to pick up midweek. So will keep you posted. Tom Lynch
  9. Paul Dave is asking if you are going to Rockies BBQ this Saturday Tom
  10. Hi Ian I am currenlty in a little town about 40 miles northwest of Oklahoma City. We have some thunder tonight, but wasn't chasing. Just resting after my flight. Will keep in touch during the week Tom
  11. Thanks Paul Having lived in Pine Bluff Arkansas for 18 months I do not envy chasers there. Hills, trees , bendy winding roads. Not just trees flipping lots of trees. I would bet money on Arkansas being added to the states where Petechasethestorm won't want to visit again. Tom
  12. Paul I am now counting down to Wednesday. I arrive in Oklhoma City at 5.00pm Wednesday. What is the feeling on how this week will pan out. I see storms are supposed to be on the cards for Tuesday/Wednesday. Tom
  13. Ian , nice to see you are geting some drinking practice in. We will definitely have a few Buds from 22nd May.. Do I need to upgrade to a 4 wheel drive ?? Tom Lynch
  14. How did I know that road was going to end at the Big Texan ?? Tom
  15. Have a good trip Paul. See you some time around the 22nd May. Tom
  16. Hope you have a sucessful chase trip. Heck you don't need too much packing. Get your batteries charged. I wont be out there until 14th so leave a few for me. Tom Lynch
  17. Thanks Paul , I have the number now. Tom Lynch
  18. Paul I will need to some mobile numbers for when I catch up with you around 22nd May.
  19. Paul I unfortunately have to wait 47 days until I fly out. I will be watching your adventures. I will also be following Steve & Pete with Cloud 9. Is Michael going out for the full month? Tom
  20. Hi Ian, I spoke with Paul at Pete's BBQ and will be hooking up with you on or around 22nd May and so we may well get to share a six pack of Bud. Maybe even a Big Texan rib-eye . There you go pardner! Tom
  21. Hi Nick, we chased with Dave for a couple of days last year and saw a seasons worth of supercells in one afternoon. not to mention a tornado too. It should be good. I hope we can meet up for a beer & a steak. No matter how big the plains are , we always all end up in the same place.
  22. Nice one Ian.. Nice to hear from you. Hope you are well. Tom
  23. Sky 3 ? I shall have to look out for that one. I am always down when folks lose everything they own. We spent the day in Greensburg, Kansas all day on the same day that they were hit by the tornado. I have seen the footage and we sat a few miles south of the second tornado that night. Hard to say how I felt. There have been so many sad stories about the townsfolk.
