  1. personally i think they look accurate, maybe even generous for some places!
  2. so what time can we expect the first showery activity to start especially for Norfolk?
  3. wow, that's a report of fine flurries in Lowestoft and a few flakes in Norwich already and nothing has even popped up on the radar!
  4. Now the mad frenzy of everybody choosing between north and south is just about over we can probably put our focus back onto the radar and watch out for the first few signs of activity..
  5. getting exciting now with such low dewpoints already.. feel like a kid on christmas eve!
  6. definitely looking good for those the other side of The Wash, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for something over here too, good look all!
  7. not a common event in the UK at all, if you google image search USA ice storms there's some good pictures of the damage it does over there, but when it occurs here it's a much more toned down version to any of those pictures
  8. sitting by the window in the sun and it's warming me up enough to not need the heating on!
  9. freezing rain is rain, but the ground temperature is still freezing so it hits the surface and turns into ice, making everything turn into a giant ice rink. very disruptive and dangerous, they get some almighty ones in America!
  10. hello all, i've decided to join everyone again for this cold spell as it could get quite interesting at times! i'm just outside the orange warning for tuesday but within all the other yellow warnings so i'm feeling hopeful.. i'm expecting a dusting by the morning and maybe several cm's if i'm lucky by wednesday.
  11. that's the best high res model output for snow i've seen for hunstanton all winter and it's for this evening! that'd be great so see come off for now it just started snowing again with very nice dry fluffy flakes and it seems to be heavier this time, starting to try and settle on some surfaces
  12. very light fluffy flakes for the past ten minutes, too light to settle but lovely to see something fall after so long! was starting to think this spell would fail to deliver even a flake here as this is the first stuff, but it managed and i'm also hopeful for tonight. anybody here got any input on risk of snow here in hunstanton?
  13. This is my favourite sentence I've read all day There was so many showers around Norfolk earlier on including a big band of snow that pushed into Lincolnshire that developed overhead then started snowing just a mile or two west of The Wash, it's been a very frustrating day of radar watching as every shower dissipates just out of reach or magically decides to steer around us. Hopefully these showers you're talking about pull off and i wake up to maybe a dusting.. the chance of the front tomorrow doesn't look good for Hunstanton unfortunately so I'm relying on any stray flurry overnight to make me happy
  14. That'd be 10-15cm here if it were all to fall as snow and settle, something must be wrong?
  15. Surely peaked by now, definitely has here because it doesn't have anyone else to get! The whole family and most of our local friends all went down with it over the course of about 2 weeks about a week ago including me
  16. Nice to hear that others are seeing something falling even though it's light. Precip is reluctant to cross The Wash and every time I feel like it's finally heading over it decides not to.. Seems like temps will be too high here near the sea once it finally reaches here so I'm out of the game unfortunately
  17. The precipitation doesn't feel like trying to cross The Wash today so I guess no snow here.. Oh well, at least there was a nice frost this morning.
  18. Precipitation starting to push in now. Light snow possible for the few hours infront of the main band.. I'm hoping that this lighter stuff picks up in intensity a bit more to bring us all more then a dusting or that it stays as snow as the main band starts to push through.. It's definitely going to be a nowcasting event. Good luck all.
  19. White with frost this morning, very chilly with temp & dewpoint below 0c.. I'm remaining positive it'll snow for a time even here near the beach at 37m.
  20. I'm staying hopeful and optimistic of falling snow, localised 1-2cm away from the coast maybe before the rain pushes in..
