  1. Sun came out about half hour ago and we're done to 1cm.. need a top up before it's all gone!
  2. had the urge to steal some of the snow.. so i now have 3 zip lock bags full of snow in my freezer
  3. same here! was expecting at best a dusting on the roofs but they just keep coming.. hopefully a sign of what's to come in the next few days!
  4. We had a depth of nearly 5cm earlier and we're back down to 2-3cm with 4cm in places against the walls where it drifted slightly.. I think you're right but we still need to wait for evening til that comes into effect a bit better
  5. Another photo from further out on the beach at low tide this morning, that wind was bitterly cold!
  6. The melting problem doesn't seem to be as bad now as it was earlier today, been about an hour since the snow stopped and we still have 2-3cm on most surfaces
  7. I call crap on the Meto for that one, we already have 5cm in the shade with more on its way! 5cm is definitely noteworthy for North Norfolk and i'll remember this single day for several years at the minimum even if we don't get anymore.
  8. It is very impressive, but it settles quicker and easier on the actual beach then the pavement in town!
  9. Merry Christmas from a snowy Hunstanton! wait, it's not christmas? it's nearly spring.. well
  10. widely 1-2cm across Hunstanton from the past half hour of on and off heavy snow, in the shade of my garden where it's mostly stayed is at just under 4cm! Pictures soon to come of snowy hunstanton beach..
  11. same here, if it wasn't melting everything between showers we'd already be at 5cm..
  12. sudden all out blizzardous conditions here with huge fluffy flakes, we went from a dusting on some surfaces to about a 1cm on everything within less then 5 minutes. proper whiteout here!
  13. you should catch something eventually, if Norwich has managed a dusting then so can you!
  14. Went for a walk down to the beach and by the time i got back the sun had melted most of our nearly 1cm of snow except from in the shade.. hopefully the ground now being damp doesn't stop any more settling i was starting to feel positive we would get some proper snow. (proper snow being more then a few cm's that lasts longer then half hour..)
  15. Lived near Nottingham until early 2013 so I was fairly lucky with some of the larger events like 2010! Being where I am along the coast now though I think I do benefit more from snow showers that catch me as they head into The Wash.. which explains 4 days of falling snow this year, hopefully by the end of the day i'll be able to tick off a day of lying snow too.
  16. full blown show flurry/shower! not seen snow like this since i moved to Norfolk just before March 2013!
  17. everytime i post i turn around and the flakes are a bit bigger maybe i should keep talking!
  18. it's definitely very dry and powdery, even though the flakes aren't that big they're finding a way to settle anyway for a change! once we have a complete dusting on everything it may help anything else falling from here onwards..
  19. update: a lovely snow flurry with medium sized flakes has kicked off, looking lovely and wintry!
  20. there's a dusting on most surfaces this morning with more very small flakes/grains/somethings coming down from the ky again as i speak which is starting to even out the covering .
  21. i did start getting worried it wasn't going to come back and i wouldn't have my live updates from here.. i can see the forums going down again a few more times in the coming days!
  22. forums back up! and just in time as the activity is starting on the coastline and i've spotted my first little white specks coming from the sky!
