an hour of the dewpoint falling as fast as it is and it’ll be cold enough for full snow! it’s so close! snowflakes really giving their all to fall right now, if it stops before it gets a chance to snow it’ll be the biggest tease ever!

Back to the wintry mix again now, really not sure how to feel about my chances of it turning fully to snow today. Saturdays risk here seems to have toned down too, it must have heard me excitedly telling a friend!

Seems like my dewpoint reached a low of 0.5c at 7am hence the snow mix that i fell asleep to, its been a slow rise most of the morning and got up to almost 2c dp about half hour ago, now at 1.6c and dropping so hoping it does it quick!

How annoyingly close! went to bed at 4am as a 50/50 snow and rain mix was falling and i’m awake now to nothing, barely even spitting rain now. 17mm since midnight, a good half of which probably fell as snowflakes and sleet! Still holding hope that the heavier precip to my west can reach me again soon and bring a bit of wintriness before it clears away edit: It seems like I’ve reversed in progress since earlier, my wintry mix has now returned completely to rain in a heavy burst

Really trying to transition into snow now, i’d say if the precip stays heavy enough then it might be able to fully change pretty soon

Temperature at 1.5c Dewpoint 1c Some juicy looking flakes falling in the rain/sleet/whatever it is thats currently still falling. Just need a slight drop in temperatures and i could get a sweet little dusting for the morning

Been sleety since it started, definite flakes mixed in with the rain atm. If the dew point was just 1c lower i’d be getting a good covering

Sleety rain on and off here in Norfolk, feeling cold at 2c. feeling positive about possibly flakes tomorrow and maybe even a dusting on Saturday!

Had a few snow flurries about two hours ago, gave a dusting over most surfaces that had already frozen over from the wintry mix earlier on but the temp seems to be stuck slightly over freezing and all i can see is slush now maybe next time!

Mixed rain & snow shower here currently, how unlucky do you have to be to be one of the only places in the region to get precip but also one of the only places with insufficient dp at the same time! so close but so far..

snow symbols on my weather app from 3-8am tonight in Norfolk.. what’s the chances of this being any good?

another bitter day outside, the fog has lifted this morning though and what was a deep frost is now melting in the sun, temp is currently standing at -0.5c

peak temperature of the day at -0.5c but most of the day stayed lower.. so far this winter i’ve witnessed (slight) freezing rain for the first time, seen snow the earliest in winter since i was a kid and had my first memorable december ice day. and this is all just the last few days! here’s to more exciting weather hopefully throughout the winter to keep us entertained

it’s bitterly cold here! still -1.5c and not rising very fast underneath thick fog with a frost still everywhere. could be my first ice day since the beast from the east! cant even explain how bizarre and incredibly unusual the weather has been here this week, we’ve already topped almost every winter the past decade!

The weather has been super bizarre, or maybe i’m just not used to anything other then drizzle! Went to the shops last night around 9:30pm last night and there was extremely low cloud, i couldn’t quite call it fog as it wasn’t ground level. it completely shrouded the tops of lampposts and blocked buildings from view but visibility lower then maybe 7-8 metres was perfect. I then walked out the shop no more then five minutes later and it had come down, and i walked out into possibly the thickest fog ive seen in a long time. Ive never seen fog roll in so extremely before, it’s like if i had waited outside a minute longer then I could’ve seen it come down and just hit the ground! Then this morning, i woke up to a light rain shower even though it was -3.5c at the time here! Froze over some/most surfaces quickly and it’s now deadly icy in the garden.. is that freezing rain?! edit - I’m in Dereham, Norfolk not sure that’s updated on my profile

I went for a walk at the local moor during the heaviest part and it was nice.. til i stepped in a swampy area that was hidden by the covering of snow

first time in years i’ve seen more then a dusting in december! snow from start to finish here in Dereham about 50m elevation and inland, which i guess helps quite a bit compared to coastal areas nearby that i’ve lived at much of the past 9 years. slowing down now but there was easily an inch in spots when i took a little walk half hour ago, completely white head to toe already on par with last years snow and we’re not even in the coldest months yet!

minutes from the approaching probable rain/sleety mess here in Dereham, Norfolk.. hoping for some flakes and maybe even a dusting like family are reporting in several places just south-west and and south lincolnshire

sky is just unreal underneath it! wish i had a camera that would do it justice

might clip here and give me a bit of a storm if i’m lucky, making it two storms in a day guess i’ll find out shortly..

Incredible storm in Kings Lynn right now, not much in the way of visible lightning but the amount of rain that’s come down and the near constant thunder for the past twenty minutes is astonishing! best storm in a couple years for me, not that it takes much to take that title but definitely a nice little unexpected surprise when i didn’t think anything was forecast today two storms in one week, lucky me..

the storms have arrived in Kings Lynn now, gone very dark, almost torrential rain and a few flashes and rumbles so far nothing too extreme but happy with it nonetheless!

what’s the chances of these storms reaching Kings Lynn? looks like this could be my best shot for awhile so i’m hoping they keep powering my way!
