  1. I think I could see the other side of all of this from Hunstanton! Just after the first storms rolled past at about 3-4pm yesterday you could see this looking East inland towards Walsingham/Fakenham area. Was an amazing view, all the clouds were very impressive yesterday..
  2. Sounds like you're near Spalding! I live north of Lynn and I can hear the thunder from that storm and one in the opposite direction
  3. Haha, the storms are just starting to kick off now, there's a few of them rumbles that last 5 seconds long and go right through you and hurt your ears, and these are from 25 miles away! Hopefully once you get back we get another wave of these fantastic storms..
  4. May I ask where you are today? Shame you are missing out, it looks like we should be in the firing line into the evening. Unrelated, been hearing sirens for a while going back and forth.. Here's me hoping its to do with that ground rumbling thunder that just happened haha
  5. I'm hearing rumbles every few minutes from a cell 30-35 miles southish of me, pleasant welcome sound. The storms are slowly approached towards me from the south-west now and I'm expecting more regular nearby rumbles in the next few hours, good luck to everyone in the east, it's starting now!
  6. It's always you over there that misses it if I recall correctly! There was that storm in Spring that was awesome round this side of The Wash and all you got is a view of the backside of it!
  7. I was going to comment on that.. There's a lot of weird cloud around today! Here's an image of some really high level looking stuff that happened between showers
  8. Nevermind turns out there was just a few rumbles closer to home
  9. I didn't think it was possible to hear thunder from this distance!
  10. Pretty disappointed, any cells coming through here were electrified until 10 miles before they reached me! Hoping that as cape rises I get something worth noting..
  11. From what I could tell, everything seems to be good up from the storms in North-West Norfolk. http://www.lightningmaps.org/blitzortung/europe/index.php?bo_page=archive&bo_map=uk&bo_hour_from=0&lang=en&bo_year=2016&bo_month=07&bo_day=20&bo_hour_from=0&bo_hour_range=24#bo_arch_strikes_maps_form 95997 strikes since midnight! http://www.lightningmaps.org/blitzortung/europe/index.php (Also a good overview of today)
  12. Shame, up here it was madness, best storm in many years! Jesus, lucky much! Just insane rain up this way, never seen hail that big in the UK...
  13. I was out in the North-West Norfolk storm this time! I left the house 2 hours ago and saw the storm brewing across the sea but thought nothing of it as it was obviously ages away. Then slowly as it approached the rumbles that were turning into a constant echo frightened all the tourists watching along the seafront. The beach went from busiest its been all year to completely empty in 30 seconds when the first drops of rain came down. Most amazing sight seeing constant sheet lightning and loads of CG, then it came right overhead and I was stuck under a tree at the beach until 15 minutes ago when I made a dash for it, then a rainbow appeared whilst distant rumbles continued. Best most lively storm I have seen in 5-10 years, I can't explain the amounts of rain, the cloudscapes and lightning and the sheer amount of it, words don't do any of it justice. Shame I didn't take any photos, I was just stood there speechless.
  14. Why is the risk area so far North-West? I'm about 30 miles out of any area of the warnings on that map yet my forecast shows a 75% risk of storms for 2 hours on Wednesday afternoon then again 40% a bit later on.
  15. Well maximum temperatures look to be 30-34c across England, even here in Norfolk we could be looking at 32c if we keep the clear skies! It isn't exactly unusual but it isn't an every year event, we are lucky to have a possibly record breaking heatwave again after last year on 1st July.
  16. Mine showed 31c earlier Forecast on it is 32c tomorrow, 31c wednesday! Longest lived 30c spell in Norfolk for years.. Don't get how people are saying this is usual.
  17. I was out all day and I was sweating buckets in the complete sun, yet all the tourists were in jumpers and jeans?! I thought I was mad being the only one feeling the heat..
  18. Half hour ago the thermometer was saying 30.6c along with my weather apps all going with 29-31c aswell for my location! For saying this morning I wasn't going to get even 28c today it's done remarkably well.. If tomorrow is peak heat, I could be looking at 32c?! That really would be a lovely record to break, Never had a temperature higher then 32.3c in my memory in this location!
  19. Lovely week upcoming for my location :O 27.3c today, hardly any breeze at all and completely sunny until 3-4pm. Tomorrow is looking at similar temperatures, then the local forecast shows it gets complicated.. Tuesday has us at maximums of 29-31c in my area, which I don't really believe. Then theres Wednesday, that the local forecasters are uncertain about but are making a bit fuss about. They are reporting that if the 'low pressure from the west' comes in with rain then our maximums will be similar to Tuesday, or cooler, but if the heat sticks about for the day, local temperatures could possibly be 31-33c, making it the hottest summer day in years in Norfolk. Whats the chances of the hotter version pulling off?
  20. Unbroken blue skies all day I hope we get another day in tomorrow whilst its even warmer before Summer transfers into Autumn early..
  21. What are the chances of Norfolk catching any thunder this week? It's been lovely here this weekend, and todays even had unbroken blue skies so far, only thing I really wish for is a big thunderstorm to end a nice little heatwave!
  22. I've been keeping track of temperatures by hour since 8am and its sure to say its a hot day today! 08:00 - 19.2c 09:00 - 20.4c 10:00 - 20.9c 11:00 - 22.4c 12:00 - 23.9c 13:00 - 24.8c Its currently 13:28 and its 25.4c... Hottest day of the year so far, with the next three days gradually hotter once again in my location (We've had unbroken blue sky since before I woke up!) I love it, just wish the humidity didn't come along with the sun and high temperatures.. Tomorrow possibly 27c, Tuesday 29c with 30c possible in my location for Wednesday Hoping for the storms to come along afterwards, anyone know if theres much of a risk to the ending half of this week for storms in Norfolk?
  23. 2 bright flashes and 7 rumbles in total half hour ago along with brief heavy rain! Sunny again now but an even darker cloud approaching and nearly overhead
