  1. Meanwhile, here's the latest Ten-Day Trend from the UK Met. Office:
  2. I suspect it'll be the first of many, too.
  3. OMG, you are 'scaremongering'. Just like anyone else in possession of more than half a brain?
  4. I'm just assuming -- tomorrow will be grot!
  5. Well, here we are, SIX days into summer -- and already the entire season is a 'write-off'. Oh, for crying out loud!
  6. I agree, DH. I think some folks, whether it's due to ignorance or ideology, simply fail to realise just how much water we waste in this country.
  7. And with our being sourced from mainland Europe via an easterly wind (as opposed to air being dragged down the entire North Sea from a north-north-easterly origin) any haar, fret or low cloud should burn off more quickly. However, coasts in eastern Scotland and eastern England mightn't fare so well?
  8. It's only 13C over here, Beka. But, thankfully, from Saturday, every day should be around 20. And that's good enough for me!
  9. Not the horrible heat of last year, but not crap, please.
  10. You need someone to come and slather you in sunscreen, Beka...?
  11. It's a bit of an exaggeration, right enough, but that doesn't change the fact that many more £billions have been handed to shareholders than have been spent on much-needed repairs. IMO, a commodity so basic to maintaining life should never be subject to free-market ideology. Shafting the many for the benefit of the few, eh?
  12. It's what always happens when something absolutely fundamental for sustaining life is handed to profiteers on a silver platter.
  13. Well, it's not like me to whine about Met. Office forecasts, but today's has been dire: where is this afternoon's predicted sunshine? It's as grim as ever!
  14. Just more of the same old grim sheet we've endured since whenever!
  15. No, not a UFO, a UAP: an Unexplained Aerial Phenomenon!
  16. I wish I knew more about quantum theory than I do, Arnie. But, alas, I do not. But there must be a relationship between the frequency of incoming solar radiation and that which (at least that within the visible spectrum) is subsequently re-emitted by noctilucent clouds.
  17. That, on the face of it, looks like an inverse relationship, but a relationship nonetheless, Rob. Where do noctilucent clouds get their energy from, if not the sun?
  18. They've just gone on an electric blanket break, at Lords.
  19. It was far from the best spring I've lived through but was also far from the worst.
  20. 13C here the noo. But the cloud is starting to thin out.
