I agree that windchill is horrific it literally feels like you're skin is on fire lol From cold perspective the windchill seems far worse than 2010 in my area like which is pretty remarkable as it's spring!
Agree windchill is a big difference to 2010. Even though 2010 was -10 or so it was calm. Whereas now -3 but wind making this worse

Absolutely unbelievable!!! Lost for words!!! Is it right they are saying this cold spell is getting extended?
Possibly certainly looks colder for Sunday. The models keep changing so who knows after that

Sadly only moved into the area in late 2013 so can’t ascertain how the build up of lying snow compares to other years. I’ve looked around and read about the heavy snow of jan 2013, the buildup from late november/December 2010 and winter 09/10. Of what I can gather 09/10 we’re no where near, getting closer to 2010 and just better than 2013? I haven’t looked any further back in history

Where did all this come from? I thought it was just light showers overnight? Looks like the arctic out there.

Tomorrow is going to be a very important day which way this cold is heading on Sunday. Oh wait a minute I’ve said that the last 3 days

Agree SS. I’ll take half a foot no problem. A nice amount personally

Yeah a steady rise in temps from around Sunday should get around 5c instead of subzero meaning rain on low ground during the day instead of snow
I suppose if we get the rain the snow won’t stay but if we manage to miss it along with cold nights the lying snow may stay well into next week.

Ukmo Keeps the cold going albeit not the severe cold we have now

snow fog here

Weathers deteriorated here after a lovely sunny alpine morning. Cloudy and light snow. The wind picking up as well

Does anyone have any comparisons of how this week is matching up to late Jan 2013 week in terms of snowfall?

It’s looking good for us in the South of the region all of a sudden isn’t it mate.
Ridiculously heavy snow. My path, garden road have all of a sudden merged into one.

Looking out it looks like the olden times

When these showers come in it’s like a fog, not seen that in many years!

Going off bbc forecast on top of what fell overnight up to 10cms more today, tomorrow 10cms+ and Thursday 10cms+ so that makes a min of 40cms here
no more needs to be said

Just makes you wonder how much they’ll be in the region by Thursday afternoon? It’s pretty severe already.

It’s snowed 3 inches hard surfaces, 4 1/2 on grass.

Might get a bit from the front coming up tomorrow night. Probably have a lot of cloud now for the foreseeable. The lying snow going nowhere fast
